Im Ava, couple of years ago i packed my bags and left my warm Home for Africa!

Hello Guys, im Ava, 2005 i started getting depressed and i wasnt happy with my life, i felt that life is more than waking up in the morning and going to work, so i decided to pack my bags and move my whole family to Africa to make a different. I grew up in a Christian background, my grandfather is a methodist pastor, so i always had to go to church as a young girl, my mom is not religious but every Saturday she use to wake me and my brother up early in the morning to prepare food so we can go and feed the homeless, my mom was very loving, loved everyone and was loved by everyone, we also used to rescue animals, well my mom did, so that was my upbringing.

2005 i was really depressed, i felt that there is more to life than just waking up and going to work, so my husband and i Decided to pack our bags and head to Africa and help the less privileged, it wasn't easy leaving the comfort of home for a foreign country but we felt the need in our hearts to do so. First year was very hard, we literally didn't know what to do or where to start, there was a big culture shock and we feared for our lives, but there was nothing to fear, the local villages accepted us with open arms and we joined forces with local churches. Our main focus was Children, we wanted to work with Kids because we believe Kids are the future and in order to break any cycle we need to break it with the next generation.

So we started feeding the Children, providing better Healthcare and also started to teach at the local schools since we are teachers by profession, its been a very hard journey with many challenges but it makes us happy, we have found meaning to this life and i wouldnt trade it for anything in this world.
