INTRODUCTION

The finger nail is an important part of the human body. Just as other parts of the body gets infected, the nails could also get infected with disease. The finger nails gets deformed as a result of having some fungal infections. When the nails gets infected, it begins to get deformed from either the right or the left side of root of the nail inside.

When I had this experience, it was such painful for anyone to go through. The bad side of it is that, when one finger nail gets infected, other ones are also at the risk of geting infected. The v
fungi spreas to other nails. One of the ways through which the fungi that deforms the nails could be contacted through water.

Importance Of The Finger Nails

The nails are located on some areas of the body such as the fingers and toes. They add beauty to the outward appearance of the body. Infact, I would say that the female are the ones who make more use of the nails as they paint their nails to add beauty to their outlook. The nails are important to us in the following ways:

  • It shields or protects the top of the finger tips and toes.

  • It is useful for scratching the body

  • It could be used to unlock or open closed objects

  • It reduces the stress which the fingers undergoes while engaging in actions like writing, and the toes while walking.

ONYCHOMYCOSIS AS A FINGERNAIL OR TOENAIL DISEASE

This is a fungal nail infection that affects the finger nails or occurs at the toe nails. The virus starts eating the root of the fingernails or toenails right inside. The finger gets swolen in the process and pores begins to come out. At this point, the fingernails gets deformed at its root inside as the fingernails is on its continous growth.

CAUSES OF ONYCHOMYCOSIS DISEASE
As the diseas occurs from a fungal infection, its causes are through some contacts. Some the cause of this infectous disease include:

  • Walking on around empty foot on moist or warm environment

  • Direct skin contact with a person having a fungal infection

  • The toe nail infection may be gotten from wearing warm shoes which has moist in them.

  • When you have a cut in your fingernails or the toenails, the fungi has a better chances of penetration and deform it.

  • Regular immersion of hands or feet in water

SYMPTOMS OF ONYCHOMYCOSIS DISEASE

As the fungi begins to grow, Some of the symptoms of the disease are shown as:

  • Having pains inside the fingernails or the toenails especially when you come in water or warm substance

  • The color of your nails would change

  • The nails may start to seperate drawing some lines.

  • The nails increases in size and becomes thick

THE TREATMENT OF ONYCHOMYCOSIS DISEASE

  • When you begin to notice a litle pain inside the nails, or your nails becoming thick, changeing color or your nails begins to deform, it is berter to contact your physician.

  • You get an effective anitfungal ointment or drugs in pharmacy shops as recomended by your physician

  • Cleaning the nails regularly

PREVENTION OF ONYCHOMYCOSIS

Some of the preventive measures to take against ONYCHOMYCOSIS include:

  • Ensure to keep your nails short

  • Reduce regualr contact with water

  • Sanitize your your nail—cutters or clippers with alcohol before making use of them.

  • Emsure to were clean shoes and your socks as well

  • Keep away the shoes, the socks or the nail clippers through which the fungi is contacted to avaoid reocurence

When I had this fungal infection on my fingernails, it was through water as I usually washed clothes. The pain I went througb was unbearable. I took some drugs recomeneded to me by the physician. I also got my hands on some native medications which I applied the my fingenails. Gradually I got healed.
The pictures reminds me how the nails started healing.
