TEESPRING - You can use their Tshirt designer, and set your price and goal, and then if you collect enough pre-orders, they will manufacture and ship the T-shirt to buyers.
SPREADSHIRT - Allows you to make you own tshirt desogns and you can upload it in their website and set you commision, you can also set up your own spreadshirt account.
ZAZZLE - You've probably heard of Zazzle — it's very well-known. You can put your design not only for a tshirt but but also on coffee mugs, calendars, posters, and more. Zazzle allows you to open your own online store and also set your own royalty rates for your creations.
And there's a lot more. If you can do arts, photographs or a programmer you can sell that too.
Also have you heard about Amazon private labelling? Essentially, the business involves finding generic products that are already selling well on Amazon, creating your own packaging and logo, and marketing them better than your competition.
Yup that's also awesome. A steady, mostly passive income of between $1,000 and $2,000 a month.
Starting online business is not easy of course you need money and time. But if you really wanna make money online and be your own boss, have your own time, and the convenience? There's no impossible on doing that.

I've never tried any of these options although they're very good. People have also tried to get me into Shopify but I didn't want to do customer service. I think you have it right with Amazon..that way they take care of the in between issues. I am building a channel right now so we'll see how it goes. Plus, I'm on Steemit! lol
