Helderblom Haven.

So we settled in , The Children loved the Space, and so did I.

Those Days , you did not need High Walls, Locked Gates, Electric Fences etc

However Electricity Supply was via Eskom, and a Dog lifting his leg against a Pole could be sufficient for a few hours of no water and lights?

The Water Supply was through Boreholes and one needed Electric Motors driving Pumps to have a Water Supply , but the water certainly tasted better than in Town.

The House was located about 50 metres back from the Front Fence and along with a few Trees was all Grass .

Funny Incident occurred with our Next Door Neighbour!

It was a beautiful Sunny Day, Chris decides to go Tan in the Front Yard in a Bikini.

I had gone to work with one of the Trucks, Chris hear's a commotion , branches Breaking, yelling and a Woman screaming at this somewhat battered Guy!
Turns out , he had climbed up a Tree with Binoculars to get a better view of the new Neighbour ( Chris) , and his Wife had spotted him, and taken a dim view of how he spent his time!
Anyhow they turned out to be quite nice People, The Neighbour on the other side owned an Engineering Works , and had some Children , a bit older than mine, one of whom started teaching Geils to play Guitar a few years later.

Dave and I found a Model T Hot Rod , brought it to the Plot , and I found another one , One had a Chevy V8 motor and the other a Studebaker V8 . We drove them to the Rustenburg show where a Stand was hired, Did some Paving , and parked the Cars on it.

Every now and then , we started them up , revved the Motors a bit, and crowds would come streaming to our Stand!

End result, we got quite a bit of Paving Work in Rusten burg!

I was doing a Job in Krugersdorp , and noticed I would be short of quite a lot of Bricks, so sent a Driver named Andrew, to get a load from the Plot, when he had not returned after about an hour and a half , I jumped into a Bakkie ( LDV) and rushed home.
Truck was packed, but Andrew was asleep in the shade on the grass outside our bedroom, I went into the house and fired a .22 pistol shot about 2 feet from his head into the grass! Strangely, he woke up and immediately fulfilled his task.

Oh, did I not mention , I am a really good shot with virtually any Gun?
