Assalamualaikum and Hi to all Steemians. Ahmad Dimsum recently organised a short course on how to make dimsum and dumpling for people who want to start their own dimsum business. Some came just to learn to make some for their family at home.
The course covers a few basic skills including how to make the chicken fillings for the dimsum. Each participants (8 to be exact) gets a hard copy of the recipe. Then they were briefed on what to-do and not-to-do before they start measuring the ingredients according to the recipe given to them.

Each participants gets to make 4 types of dimsum which is Chicken Tuhau, Chicken Crab, Chicken Mushroom and Chicken Seaweed. They were all guided throughout the whole recipe. After completing their little dimsums, they all took turn steaming it until the chicken filling is cooked.

Then Ahmad Dimsum threw in a bonus, by making their sweet chilli garlic sauce for the participants to take home along with the dimsums that they've made.(they all brought their own 'tapau').

Before ending the course, Ahmad Dimsum had a photoshoot with all the participants with their dimsums laid nicely on a table. After a few snaps, the course is finally over. Everyone exchanged their numbers then they head back to their home bringing dimsum for their happy family.

Alhamdulillah.. :)

Seldom see Muslim make dimsum. That's a great course to create a food business.

Thank you for reading @legendchew.. True.. It is hard to find dimsum that's halal.. There are plenty of delicious looking dimsum out there but some are not halal.. BUT I really want to know how the chinese dimsums (pork+prawn) taste like.. what i mean by that is I want to know the texture of the filling when i bite into it and the flavour itself (since I'm using chicken meat, the flavour's not the same).. I always ask my chinese friends to compare the taste of my dimsums with the dimsum they eat at chinese restaurants so that i can improve my recipe.. :D

The real secret dim sum contain of seafood ingredient such as prawn and crab. Together it mix with the meat and create the fantastic flavour. Try it out. :)

i've tried with prawns before and it does taste good.. ~taste of land and the ocean~ hehe.. but one day i bought not-so-fresh prawn at the wetmarket to make my dimsum.. and my dimsum had a very bad aftertaste due to the bad prawns.. the prawn still looks good tho.. after that incident, i stop mixing prawns into my recipe.. i will in the future tho.. but i need to learn how to pick fresh prawns first la.. hehe
