Warm greetings once more to all. For those who missed out on the furst part of this article, here is the link to part 1. In the first part, tye Introduction was handed, followed by the Advantages of Technology to our Society.
For this second part of the article, i'll talk mainly on the Disadvantages of Technology to our Society, followed by a Conclusion.

Technology tends to affect our society adversely, due to the misuse of these technological inventions. It may be the wrong application of technology, or the over usage of technology.

a) Pollution:

Drawing largely from the industrial sector, technology is harmful to our society. The usage of technology in this sector leads to all sorts of pollution, which intend is harmful to our environment, thus harmful to its inhabitants.

• The release of harmful gases into the atmosphere, from combustible machines (such as cars, trains, vehicles, planes, ships, and many more), pollutes the atmosphere. Some of these harmful gases are Carbon dioxide (CO₂), Carbon monoxide (CO) and Sulphur dioxide (SO₂), which are the leading causes of most diseases like Bronchitis and Cancer.

• Toxic chemicals (wastes) are released from industries into the environment, and when not properly managed (treated), leads to pollution. Carcinogenic gases an toxic chemicals are often disposed into water bodies, which pollutes these waters, and pose a treat to the marine lives.

b) Diseases:

The misuse of technology has greatly increased the rate of illnesses, and even led to the rise of new diseases in our society. The abnormal use of technology every given chance we get, could be very harmful to you physically and mentally. It could go as far as distorting your daily schedules and sleeping cycle if care is not taken (i am a victim of this😥).

• Elderly persons fund it difficult to relate with their loved ones due to the influence of social media an websites. These engagements have greatly sucked up time for offline socialization and communication.

• Statistically speaking, studies adhere to the fact that *stress, emotional breakdown, depression, anxiety, and much more, are driven by too much social media usage.

• The posture of so many youths have been affected due to too much usage of digital appliances. For example, sitting in an abnormal position while watching a movie or using your laptop, could greatly change your upright posture as time passes.

c) Warfare:

The enormous usage of technology during wars, has greatly led to mass insecurity in our society.

• So many different types of weapons have been manufactured, and more are still being made on q daily, with the help of technological advancements. This has gradually promoted acts of war, thus spreading fear throughout our society.
  The greatest fear we have throughout our society is the usage of nuclear bombs during wars.

d) Climate Change:

Technology has massively without a doubt, contributed to the rapid enhancement of climate change effects in our society.

• Nowadays, vehicles are a necessity, and as such, are used in their multitudes, on a daily. Industries and vehicles release toxic gases and heat energy into the atmosphere. These combined emission increases global warming, which intend facilitates climate change. Climate change is a big call for concern throughout our society.

• Technological advancement procedures have greatly encouraged acts of deforestation, for the extraction of raw materials. This can very much lead to the extinction of certain specie(s) of habitants, due to destruction of their habitats or ecosystem.

• The overall recurrence rate of heat waves will keep increasing with increase in climate change severity. All these are enhanced greatly by technological advancement projects.

Technology has become very essential for our survival, although it comes with so many disadvantages throughout our society. Our society has greatly emerged to better heights with the help of technology. Without a doubt, it has made our lifestyle easier, but when misused, it could be very harmful to us.

So, I consider technology to be helpful and/or harmful, depending on what and in what manner it is used.
