Monster Energy Supercross - 2020 Season postponed due to coronavirus

Hi Steemers!

The news we all feared but knew was coming has been confirmed. Feld Entertainment have released a statement which confirms the next four rounds of the Monster Energy Supercross series have been canceled. There would only be a further two rounds after that which would be Las Vegas and Salt Lake City but i think it's safe to assume that we are now on hold indefinately. You can read Feld Entertainment's statement below:

"Due to the increasing spread of COVID-19 and expanding restrictions on domestic and international travel, and in accordance with national state and local governments prohibiting large group gatherings, the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season has been postponed until further notice."

The following Supercross events have been cancelled:

March 14 in Indianapolis, IN at Lucas Oil Stadium.
March 21 in Detroit, MI at Ford Field.
March 28 in Seattle, WA at CenturyLink Field.
April 4 in Denver, CO at Empower Field at Mile High.
April 18 in Foxborough, MA at Gillette Stadium.

The health and safety of everyone attending and competing in our live events, as well as our touring personnel, is our top priority. We will continue to monitor the situation."

As much as i belive they could run closed doors events which could be televised etc i understand how finacially cripling that would be for the company. Bums on seats are the bread and butter of racedays as much as we would all love to see this season played out. Sure, I am gutted but i completely understand why they have done this and all i can do is make sure i scour the news to keep you guys informed.
