Anthony Davis did not play while LeBron James was forced to lead the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers built a 22-point lead in the second quarter to 129-114 defeat to the Mavericks in front of 20,542 fans.

"He still has the injury and is not ready to play," Los Angeles head coach Frank Vogel told Davis. “We’ll see how he is tomorrow.”

In Salt Lake City, Fil-Am Jordan Clarkson scored 20 points off the bench and Rudy Gobert added 15 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocked shots to lead the Utah Jazz to a 109-92 win over the Charlotte Hornets.
