Queen Ifrica - Black Woman | Official Music Video (Review)
Tonight I share with you a song from Queen Iftira; Black Woman. It is a very energetic song for the woman from a real reggae woman singer that represents the women. Queen Ifrica can empower and encourage Black Women with her voice through this song. That is why I love listening to this song.
Black Woman was a lyrically and musically powerful anthem that paints the message of black women protecting themselves and uplifting each other featured on her album Climb. The single has been released on 26 August 2018. The song has been preceded by a music video which has been filmed in Jamaica by director Jason Panton (Raging Fyah's "Milk and Honey", Ikaya's "Leave You Alone") and has featured young black models portraying women from history to modern-day. The styling has been represented by different representations of female virtuosity and some familiar faces will be in the video to further enhance the message.
The meaning of the song and video was the fact that women today were stepping up and becoming more stronger in themselves. Whenever Queen Ifrica saw that black women are behind, it was because she was left behind. Now is the time for the black woman to realize her purpose, her worth and what she is about in this space. That is the reason for Queen Ifrica to sing this song. I can say this song can be a motivation for many women around the world.
Who is Queen Ifrica?
Queen Ifrica is a reggae singer and disc jockey from the hills above Montego Bay, Jamaica. She is the daughter of ska legend music Derrick Morgan but was raised by her mother and stepfather. Her real name is Ventrice Morgan.
A Rasta by faith, she is known for her work in the community and for writing songs about the deeply personal subject matter in songs such as Below the Waist and Daddy.
Queen Ifrica, began her career in 1995 after shining at a local talent contest in her hometown of Montego Bay, Jamaica. This eye-opening experience eventually led to major stage performances in her country including the esteemed Reggae Sumfest as well as a union with Tony Rebel’s Flames Crew in 1998.
With roots firmly secured in the Rastafarian faith, she blossomed as one of the top cultural artists in reggae, swarming the airwaves with hits like "Randy", "My Brethren Juice", "Below the Waist" and "Daddy" and stealing the stages at major festivals and stage shows around the world (Summer Jam in Germany, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Bob Marley Festival, Reggae on the River in California and Reggae Sundance Festival in Holland). As an active community leader, Ifrica is involved in several outreach programs for children in Jamaica's inner-city and charity shows where proceeds are donated to the cause.
She signed a record deal with VP Records, leading to the release of her first album, Montego Bay, in July 2009. Her second album, Climb, was released in March 2017 and topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

One of my favorites from the Queen. Few months ago this was one of the top five reggae songs in Japan.
It was a strong motivation song from her. Thanks, @missaj.
