Mizu No Oto - Every Image Has Its Haiku Contest - WEEK #4
Haiku by Īda Dakotsu (1885-1962)
The poetry contest of Bananafish!
STEEM and @steembasicincome shares given weekly!

News of this edition:
• Best Haiku award will be directly in STEEM and no longer in steembasicincome shares
• There’s a new award for the best comment supporting another’s participant favorite haiku (1 SBI)
• Everyone is strongly advised to post the English translation of their haiku, to facilitate the reading by all the participants

For those that want to unleash their poetic potential, here is how this contest works:
• Look at the prompt image and let yourself be inspired by it.
• Write a haiku related to the prompt image. The haiku should be composed by 3 verses with no title. The 1st verse should be 5 syllables long, the 2nd verse should be 7 syllables long, and the 3rd verse should be 5 syllables long again.
• If you aren’t confident with English enough, you can write your haiku in Spanish, French, or Italian as well. Only remember, if you write in languages different from English, please include an English translation for other readers.
• Post the haiku on your blog or in the comment section below this post. If you make your own post, don’t forget to put the link to it in the comment section below!
Don't forget to use the tag:
#haikucontest

I'm happy to communicate that I started sustaining an awesome project by the genius @anarchyhasnogods called Collective Intelligence. Cheers to our yellow-pinned buddies @theironfelix and @dirge who talked to me about it and are moderators in the @co-in community.
So far, I understood that this is a promising and disruptive model, which rewards quality based on a decentralised consensus protocol.. what does it mean? I'll submit your worthy stories to the @co-in platform and hopefully this will result in some interesting upvotes for you. If you want to have a practical idea, you may check the CI vote boost of the last Mizu no Oto edition, after @theironfelix submission.

Vote your favorite haiku below!
My vote is for @kaelci
Please remember to read and vote your favorite haiku. The best comment here will be rewarded with 1 SBI
Tough one, very nearly went with @vdux, the haiku master, but @tristancarax stole this one for me, the depth and meaning in it is just beautiful
I agree. it was a toss up between @vdux and @cyemela for me.
Nice to read your words about your thoughts on my haiku. Thanks again.
It was a tough one this week! I like a lot of the haiku, but, as with my own, many of my favourites held the author's thoughts... so I tried my best to pick a favourite that did not.
My vote is for @rdsmas :)
My vote goes to @tristancarax!
Really, tough choices.
I'm going with @cyemela. Just seems to fit the mood I'm in right now.

My entry:
forward the future
we roll on down empty tracks
never looking back
@snowyknight if you get a break here is a haiku contest.
Welcome to Mizu No Oto and good luck! Your writing is like a senryū, since it talks about human life more than nature
So "Mizu No Oto" are haiku's about nature, and the "senryū" are haiku's people related. Thank you. Do they have a specific title for haiku's about animals also?
resting head on paws
waiting by the empty gate
home at last, tail wags
I'll call in my help some words from Valeria Simonova, a senryu scholar:
A haiku about animals is simply a haiku, but if you talk about an animal to make a metaphor about the human condition, then it can be a senryu.
For example, you can write about ants running amok outside and inside the anthill, and let it be understood that they are like commuters at rush hour.
Sorry for the long and boring comment, hope I could clarify you something ...

Welcome to Mizu no Oto @bashadow! A nice message about being in charge of our own existence.
Well, I leave here, my participation in the contest and I leave a bonus, since the image of @F3nix left me as 6 haiku in my mind.

Path never ending
Branches insist I take root
Not in my nature
Welcome to the contest! A composition in which the poet's voice is very present!
I love this picture!
Here's my haiku.
Tunnel of hanging
trees leads to open future
Sun follows shadow
You managed to let your thought seep in a non-invasive way inside a formally correct and delicate haiku, good!
Hi @agmoore! I'm glad you liked the shot .. I was at work and it's been very unexpected.
Thank you!
The never ending
Stretches deep into the woods
But I've had enough
Rebellious final verse, Cal! (f3nix)
Never ending rail
Dappled in shade and quietness
Haven to wildlife
Thank you for your delicate and balanced haiku, good luck for the contest! :)
A beautiful picture, @f3nix.

Thank you Tristan! I was traveling for work and literally jumped out from the car to shoot it..
Inspiring things come at the strangest of moments at times.
Damn right (pure haiku-thinking)
Here be me entry for this contest.
A person of deeds and responsibility. Good, strong character.
