SEC S5W6 : My Bestie | Meet Raphael and Patrick

Preamble

Some of our best friends can be better than our family members; this is without doubt to me. As per the contest title, this has to be a special opportunity for us to present them to the world, therefore making them feel special. It's also an opportunity for us to say "thank you" to them for everything.
I personally have as many as two people I call besties, and I won't hesitate to write about them here either. Let's begin.

About my best friends

They are one of the best gifts I have ever received. Being a weirdo, this made it very hard for me to call people friends, much less "best friends." I'm a very secretive type of person with a trust issue amongst other hardened qualities. These gems succeeded in proving to me that keeping best friends is an important part of life that's likely to give us meaning and fulfilment.

They are very familiar with me; they like my mind, and I think that's the meaning of friendship.
Now, life itself is just like a game—any game at all that involves players cannot be played alone. The friends serve as players alongside you, making the game go smoothly and enjoyable for both of you.
Meet my life's players below.

Meet my two best friends

My two best friends are Raphael and Patrick. We're friends with each other. Ours is a group of three consisting of Raphael, Patrick, and Barnaby, and a group of three friends is always legendary.
I'll be narrating how I met both of them in a jiffy.

About Patrick: how long we have been acquainted and when the acquaintance began

Patrick is more thoughtful than social, just like me. Being an introvert, this made it easy for both of us to become friends. As easy as we make it, and for about a lot of years precisely since childhood, the friendship hasn't hit a rock.
Patrick keeps secrets just the way I always wanted. He's also a type of person who speaks when necessary and comes to the conclusion only when he knows that his spoken words will not come back to him. All these are qualities I also possess, and I simply love the fact that we're almost together in our thoughts.

When and how long we've known each other?

We've known each other since childhood, and though we aren't related by blood, we grew up in the same environment. At around age 12–15, we got separated from living together but later reunited in this current place and have been doing well.

Some qualities that got me attracted to

• Good adviser
  Though Patrick is considered more inwardly, he does not hesitate to advise someone on what to do. He's always advising when the need arises, based on his past experiences. He understands the advisee's feelings too—a top-notch quality possessed by him that I'm always envying.

• Careful spender
  Patrick isn't the stingy type of friend; in fact, he hates seeing me and everyone around him suffer from want. However, he spends only on relevant things, unlike me, who has self-control when in possession of little money.

All the aforementioned qualities got me attracted to him. I'm learning to live the life he's living, and I guess I'm doing all right.

About Raphael: how long we have been acquainted and when the acquaintance began

Raphael isn't just a best and trusted friend of mine but also a mentor to me.
It's so obvious here that both of these friends of mine are older and more experienced than me, and as such, they know how to play the game of life better than me as well.

I've been able to discuss details about Raphael in a yesterday's engagement challenge post titled "A friend in need is a friend indeed." I mentioned Raphael as a genuine friend indeed. I also narrated in detail how we met, the qualities possessed by this Raphael that got me attracted to him, his sacrifices for me, and I was also able to write a short message for him.

What makes me comfortable being friends with the them

The fact that these two special people have now taken on the role of family members in my life is a big reason why I always feel very comfortable being with them. They are always willing to help in whichever way they can, and to me, they are the only "I've got your back" friends I will ever have.

Though we do not have enough time to meet as often as possible yet we're still best friends and have been maintaining the bond. We do a lot of things when we're together especially during weekdays such as playing of games, outings and sometimes general cooking. All these makes me feel comfortable being with them.

Conclusion

My concluding part of this "thank you" post has to be my word to these two gems.

Dear Raphael and Patrick, may we keep considering about positive things only, even in our hard times, knowing that dawn will surely come. May this hope of better days never be taken away from us.
