This post is my entry for the Contest : ||Contest|| "Foods Extracted From Animals " #1 hosted by Dear @shahariar1.
I was born and raised in a small country bordered by hills which is cut in half from north to south by the deep Dniester River, in a country where many nationalities coexist peacefully such as Moldovans, Ukrainians Bulgarians Gagauzes and many other peoples who have chosen a small place for their lives but hospitable Moldova.
I thought about what could unite these peoples in such a small territory and I realized that not only the love for grape wine but Moldova is famous for its vineyards, they are united by the love for meat products lol and even in the residential areas of the capital you can feel the aroma of grill smoke on where residents of a high-rise building grill shish kebab lol.
Yes, some people prefer pork kebab, others go to the market or go to a flock to buy lamb, beef kebab is not held in high esteem there and the “economy” option is chicken kebab.
I have to give credit to the meat or sausage industry of Moldova, most of the products taste great, and I can’t forget the taste of regular milk sausages lol.
I can go to the store for meat products, or I can cook whatever I want, for example, homemade sausage, which we then bake in the oven.
Some time ago I saw a specialty store that sold everything for home processing of meat and dairy products for example calogen casings for sausages and sourdough and latex paints for cheeses.
This is very convenient when you want to experiment with locally produced products.
For example here is a pork sausage that consists of 70/30 pork and beef lard black pepper coriander mustard seeds salt and all this in lamb intestines which I bought in the supermarket.
They are ready for use you just need to rinse lightly under running water.
I love smoking meat products, poultry and fish it turns out tastier than in the store and is much more affordable.
What Moldova doesn’t have is a seashore and accordingly I can only get sea fish in a store but if you like lake or river fish you can enjoy fried carp or crucian carp caught in a local reservoir.
Personally I don’t like talking about the nutritional value of certain products if someone is talking to you from my account, then it’s not me lol.
I don’t like to compare different products I equally love meat, fish and poultry eggs cheeses and milk but all priorities depend only on my mood at the moment.
