Sepia Saturday - Forgotten place meet
Greetings, friends! This is my entry for - #SepiaSaturday, which is organized by blog @old-guy-photos.
Yesterday, passing through the old quarters of the city, I found a rarity, yes, it is a real rarity, a hydrant, or a water column above an artesian well.
Once upon a time, this hydrant was the main artery that supplied drinking water to several blocks of this city. People came here with buckets, collected water, stood in a queue, got acquainted, talked, it was a meeting place for those who did not plan to meet, but came to them.
We can say that it was a place of communication, people learned the latest news, told new jokes and various stories.
It was a place of kindness, because there was always someone who wanted to help get water, or help to bring the bucket home.
It was a place for children to play, they liked to splash and pour cold water on each other. Here laughter often sounded.
A lot of memories gave this simple, and forgotten by all, hydrant. Nobody needs him anymore, he is hidden from our eyes behind a pile of cut branches, he became part of the urban relief, and nothing more.
Photos taken with a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone.
