Mosquito

Hello Steemians, Today I feel motivated to embarked on an exciting adventure in art by drawing a mosquito. I appreciate @benton3 for bringing this specie to our weekly "DIY".
So please relax 🙏 with me while I take you through my four dynamic steps of recreating this little insect masterpiece!

My Steps in Drawing a Mosquito

First, I did gathered all my needed materials. Though it wasn't requiring much materials so I made sure my plain sheet of paper and as well my trusty biro pen were so ready to transcend the insect to reality on paper.

[My Plain Sheet and Biro]

  • I also make sure I had a clear picture of a mosquito to help guide me and direct as I craft my drawing. So Preparing everything is always important, and it helps the drawing process goes smoothly and gradually.

Next, I then began with the head of the mosquito on my plain sheet. I seriously focused on getting the shape right, recreating its eyes and the long proboscis, which is one of their most used part to suck blood. It was really fun to see the head come to life on the paper gradually!

[Sketching The Head]

Then, after finishing with the head, I moved on to attach the body and its wings. The body of the mosquito is always slender, and the wings here are thin and delicate. I really make sure to draw the wings slightly apart from the body, in a way that the mosquito was calm and standing on something. This part as well was exciting because it then started looking more like a real mosquito in the picture.

After that, I have to add the legs. Mosquitoes do have long legs, and I really make sure to draw them in a way that gave my mosquito a full look and much imaginable according to the picture that guides me. It was like putting the finishing touches on a puzzle already.

[Adding the Legs]

Finally, I now went back to all part and did some creative brushing and fine-tuning to make it look dynamic and amazing. I added more detail thickness like the texture of the wings and also the segments of the body to help give it an amazing look.
I thought of titling my drawing, which made it feels good and even more special!

What Type of Insect is a Mosquito?

A mosquito is known to be a small flying insect with long legs, proboscis and wings. They belong to the animal family call Culicidae and are generally found all over the world. Mosquitoes are more often recognized by their noisy and buzzing sound and their ability to bite, which can be quite annoying most times!

  • ° Have I ever seen one? Of course Yes! I often find them all buzzing around my room and it's always annoying to me. They are really bothersome, so I always make sure to get rid of them using insecticide.°

Economic Importance

The Mosquitoes have bit of mixed relationship with humans. While they are seen to be pests, they also play extra role in the ecosystem. They do serve as food for many animals to feed on, including the birds and bats..
But However, they are mostly known for spreading of diseases like malaria and dengue fever, which are so harmful to humans. This is the most reason controlling their population is important for the public health.
