Wave properties
Waves exhibit several basic properties: wavelength, frequency, and speed. These properties help us understand wave behavior. In waves, these properties change in time and distance, and can be measured mathematically. Waves have different properties for different types of media, but they all exhibit the same basic behaviour.

Distance between surfer and peak
The distance between the surfer and peak is measured from the lateral markers on the metacarpus of the little fingers, which touch during the wipe-transition. The front and rear limbs of the surfer were also measured to determine the peak-force distribution. The elbow angles and weight stabilization were also measured from the lateral markers on the metatars of the 5th toe.

Position of surfer on a wave
The position of the surfer on a wave when surfing the edge of the Known is vital. Ideally, the surfer should be lined up, which means the chest should be pointing in the direction they want to go. Once lined up, the surfer should stay on the same peak coordinates as the previous wave, ensuring that they don't get pulled off course by any of the smaller waves.

Probability of a surfer catching a wave
Surfing is a skill that requires judging waves and timing. In addition to being a skilled swimmer, a surfer must have the same momentum as the wave in order to catch it. The equation calculating the necessary paddling speed involves the mass times the acceleration of the surfer, the propelling force of the paddle, and the drag force caused by the motion of the wave's particles.

Rules of the game
While surfing is considered one of the most dangerous sports, there are some common sense rules that you must abide by to ensure a safe surf session. For example, you should apologize to other surfers if you accidentally drop in, or if you lose your board. You also should never ignore or disrespect another surfer. These rules may seem obvious, but they will make surfing safer and easier. Follow them and you'll have a blast.
