@TeamAustralia Christmas Party Accounts

Hey Guys!

As promised, here is my accounts post for the party.

I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone who trusted me to organise the party. It occurred to me later on (much later on) how much money was coming in and that it's been sent to someone they havent even met in real life. Blew my mind when I thought about it.

Baller House

We started planning the party 7 months ago and in May @ausbitbank generously transferred $2000 AUD to pay for our air bnb at Katoomba to accommodate 13 people. ($35 left over)

Party Bags

On Wednesday November 14, after the Granny Flat auction went without bids for a second time, I contacted our airbnb host and asked to reduce our number from 13 to 5. He very kindly agreed and reimbursed us $665.54 (+ $35 = $700.54).

After consulting @mattclarke about what to do with the $665.54 - do we hire something/someone or do we go gift bags. I went the gift bag option with $600 as my budget goal hoping to leave a buffer for #hayrunners.

I always wanted to somehow include other members from the team in our celebrations so I decided to get 15 totes made up since we had 10 Steemians confirmed, 2 spares just in case we had last minute attendees and 3 just to giveaway. I later changed the number of totes containing consumables to 12 thinking it's not going to be possible to send wine overseas.

The remaining 3 totes are bare bones bags with just the power bank & calendar - I sent these over with @mattclarke for the Mallsballers.

Food & Alcohol

Those who don't know, we lost out caterer last minute.

Which, I suppose, was a blessing in disguise since we ended up with so much food for a quarter of the price we were quoted. The party food is actually still going even after we continued on Sunday and snacked together on Monday. I'm pretty sure I over catered and I shouldn't have slept on Friday night so I had time to make everything I wanted to make.

On Saturday I forgot to make.. The burger bites (but I made them on Sunday for the boys), the vegan schnitzel wrap I wanted @choogirl to try, turkey brie and canberry bites (made these on Sunday as well), the caramel apple mocktail (I ran out of bench space), the dessert sticks with brownie, strawberry and marshmallow.... :(

Sooo much I didnt get to make. And I'm pretty sure I would have forgotten about the charcoal chicken if someone didnt remind me.

I also realised there is such thing as too much alcohol. I still have bottles of cider and wine. Seriously you guys, I can't even look at another cider bottle right now, though I may hit that last bottle of Sauv Blanc after writing this post to celebrate :D

Food & Alco Funds Breakdown

We managed to raise $740 from post donations, room auctions and tickets over the course of 7 months. (Can ya'll imagine if the price of Steem was better? 😱😱😱😱😱)

Unaccounted for....

All the dips and falafels were direct from our favorite vegan food supplier, which happens to be one of Hubby's clients and because the shop was opened specially for him by the owner after hours, there's no receipt... yet..

Ice bags! I totally forgot to factor in ice bags apparently we went through 11 bags over the long weekend. No receipts for these :D

Ohhh!! I almost forgot about this!

magnets.jpg

They were so shit, but I gave everyone a copy anyway lol. I used the 5 spare for magnets for the ver.2 of the calendar so everyone should have gotten 2 calendars in their gift bags :D

Technically we have $9.75 left after I remembered the calendars.

If you watch yesterday's d.tube video you'll notice boxes on the seats behind me.

Those contain two full gift bags with ornament and consumables for @ausbitbank & @gohba.handcrafts. Imma need to mail those bags out I'm still tossing between sending it with the wine or not. I'm worried the wine will break and the popcorn/chips will pop in transit - but anyway, was going to use whats left over for postage :( so really we have $0 left in the kitty. Sorry #hayrunners :(

Thoughts?! Either way I wont be going to the post office until the Christmas craziness is done so any advice on this would be great.

I hope all the maths made sense, I'm not good with numbers. If it doesnt let me know which bits and I'll see if I can nut it out :)

Happy Friday Everyone!

4 days til Christmas!!!

Fantastic to see this level of accountability.
I certainly felt we got more than our money's worth, with all that incredible food and copious booze.
Love your work, Arly

🤗 thanks Matt. Cant help but feel we could have drank more 🤪🤤🤤

I put plenty down early, then sobered up to drive back to ballerhouse.
If we'd known numbers at the start we could've all just crammed in at your place.

Ahh the downfall of being the designated ~ I felt bad for you. Im looking forward to drunk Matt next Christmas 😁

Yeh, hindsight.... :( It would have been much better if yall stayed over. No driving, party all day/night... Next year... :D

Wow awesome effort! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A lot of alcohol there!!! Can throw another party with it 😉😉
Thanks so much for all that organising!!

Glad you all had a great time there, and thanks for thinking about #hayrunners too ;)

Auspost is pretty good with shipping wine if it's boxed up. If it's just in a bag, then maybe keep the wine for yourself... I think you've earned it anyways with all your hard work this year for the team.

Have a great Christmas!!

Its boxed up, padded up, even got foam filling and everything. Now thinking of putting stuff in a plastic bag just in case the box gets wet 😁

Ive got way too much Team Aus booze here as it is. I reckon I gotta offload some :D

Merry Christmas @bmj!

Btw whens the hayrunners deadline?

Wow. No dodgy offshore, shell company accounting going on here. Good work!

Lol 😁 yeh, nah, Im not smart enough for that 😂

Btw. I cracked open the last sauv blanc bottle to see what the fuss is about and its not half bad!! 👌

You did an amazing job organising 😄 hard work paid off? 🙃 it’s fine next Christmas party there might be some left over for next hayrunners. All learning 😄

Thanks Ry, wish you were there wish us girls. You better come out to Adelaide next year! I think it paid off. I had a really happy, surreal moment on Saturday while I was watching everyone. Was good to have my Steemit fam together chillin 🤗

As for hayrunners I have a fundraising idea for but theres no way its gonna be out to everyone by Christmas and not much point in it after chrissy :(

You've done really well here (once again). Sorry that we couldn't help hayrunners this year, but with the lessons learned we can adapt to next year's party in Adelaide, and we can be a force for good.

Above and beyond... as per usual.

Awww thanks @shaidon. Well I may have an idea for hayrunners just gotta find out when the deadline is but Im definitely looking forward to Adelaide next year!

There's always going to be teething problems with the first time you do anything, but no one got seriously hurt or drove away drunk, etc. It went really well.

Adelaide will have the numbers (if things don't go wrong) and hopefully I will be dolphin and above by then. It's a full year away. It's amazing what can be done in that time.

I'm hoping that we can challenge each other to both grow and improve our lives using this platform.

The person behind @partiko wants to sponsor any Adelaide based events, so we'll see what happens there.

The potential over the coming year is so exciting.
