The house in which this quaint museum is housed belongs once belonged to Mohsen Moghadam, the son of Tehran’s mayor during Nassereddin Shah’s rule ( one of the Qajar king ). Today, it has been converted into a museum to show historic artefacts, valuables that offer you a glimpse into the past. Moghadam, once owner of this house was also very interested in art works and studied art in Switzerland as well.
Mohsen moghadam returned home after graduating in painting, art and archeology in 1315 with his French wife, Selma, and settled in father's home ( current museum).

In 1972 , moghadam ( the professor of the university of Tehran) divoted his historical house to the exquisite collections of the university of Tehran and left this world in 1982. After his death the house was in custodianship of his life-companion until 1990 when she handed it to the University of Tehran.
He combined art and history to design Tehran university logo representing an image of stucco seals of Sassanid period.

The couple living in Moqadam’s building decided never to marry and instead consider the historical objects in their house as their children which they should look after and leave for the next generations.
