RE: Waiting for my account to be nullified.

in #fourfourfourfour4 years ago (edited)

Hive was a new fork, they didn't touch your Steem stake. It was a completely new and separate thing, so they didn't take anything from you. You didn't get free Hive tokens, nothing was stolen from you or anyone else who got blacklisted on Hive.

Sort:

Perhaps the Steem fork will be a new fork with a zeroing, and an air drop too so they can make the same argument. Doesn't make it morally justifiable in my opinion. It wasn't justifiable on Hive either.

They stole years of my work, but excluded the stake/transactions that that work represents. A lot of what I had was from author and curation rewards. The chain still records those rewards as existing, but they do not. I think this makes Hive illegitimate as a blockchain. Over 90 percent of its transactions are void, and therefore inaccurately recorded.

I know the jist. It was an airdrop, so it was ok. That sets a dangerous precedent that you might get to see used against you (I use you as a way of saying Hive). I believe a common cliche fits here: "Live by the sword, die by the sword." Perhaps it would have been better to not set the precedent, or renounce it. You are now seeing the unintended consequences of claiming that it is okay to remove people's stake. No matter how eloquently you try to describe it, it is not okay, and it sets a very dangerous precedent.

The difference is that @roelandp and other earned or bought their Steem. For this new Steem HF to come in and zero out their balance is theft. Hive was created as a totally new asset that was given to people at its creation. If you are too dumb to see the difference, that is your fault.

If Hive was completely new? Why is it that all of it's transactions were identical to Steem's when it was created. They went through the code, and changed every Steem to Hive, and removed the Stakes of certain users they didn't like. I recommend you read this. Thanks for being respectful. Don't come crying to me when the same strategy is used against you. I'm too dumb to help.

Hive created a new chain with a new name, everyone still had the same amount of steem, and could transact with those.

I bought half a million steem during the last year. Which will, if the rumors are true, just disappear. You seriously want to compare that to a new chain with a new ticker, in which nobody invested before?

Yes. Because they copied another chain. Is this to say that if I copy someone else's English essay, word for word, and just change the title and author, that it is a completely new English essay?

I am sorry that you bought so much Steem, and might lose it. I already said that it is wrong for that to happen. I just wish you would acknowledge that it is exactly what happened to me. It is corrupt on both accounts.

said in the comment above, if witnesses create NEW STEEM as a new coin, it is absolutely legit. They can do what ever they want, and airdrop what ever they want, only one thing has to happen. Old Steem coin must be intact. so if they create new steem, list it on exchanges, make the option to trade steem for new steem, it is fine.

You cannot force them to run a version of the blockchain that you like.

no one if forcing anything. but to do what they want to do, they must create new coin. steem must be here. if they create new steem, maybe i will run the code for old steem. or maybe no one will.

That is what every hardfork does. It creates a new chain. If enough people wanted to, they could run the old version of Steem as another chain. The problem is getting enough people to accept that version of the code as a viable chain. Especially since a lot of the people who would advocate for that would only be doing it to try to sell their stake.

I copied something? When and where?

I am muting you. You are playing dumb. I hope they take your stake so you know how I have felt for the past 3 months. Good luck in the appeals process.

I'm still waiting for proof for the accusations made by you and others. Where did I actively copy something or participate in criminal activity? How did you decide that me, and every other individual, got on that list?

You are wrong. Hive is the continuation of the steem, see the witnesses of the hive, they are the same old as the steem.

Run an old version of the blockchain and continue it!

The Hive blockchain is not new, so it contains historical data. The HIVE tokens are new, you didn’t buy any of them hence you haven’t lost anything. Users like @roelandp have invested $$$ into Steem and that investment is now gone.

Hive is setting a precedence? Well you can come and HF Hive into a new blockchain with a new token and blacklist us, it’s all good because we have not invested into your new token so we have not lost anything.

You cannot force them to run a version of the blockchain that you like. The fork will always be the solution when someone doesn't agree with the direction of the blockchain.

Well, the historical data on the Hive chain says I was rewarded a ton of HIVE tokens in author and curation rewards. Maybe someone should try to make that accurate. They copied my content, and even a record of the rewards that that content SHOULD HAVE gotten, but did not actually copy the rewards.

Hive is setting a precedence? Well you can come and HF Hive into a new blockchain with a new token and blacklist us, it’s all good because we have not invested into your new token so we have not lost anything.

That is exactly what I am saying might happen (they might fork Steem into a new chain). I am saying that they might do exactly what Hive did to remove @roelandp's stake. I still view it as wrong because I viewed it as wrong when HIVE did it.

Your content wasn’t copied the chain was forked, your content was just not deleted. You can still login and empty your content.

Well there is nothing wrong with it, you didn’t loose any $$ by not getting Hive you just didn’t get more $$.

On one hand I objected to anyone losing their stake, but after reading all of what you've written... payback is a bitch, isn't it? 😄

You don't like it? Fork and create the Steem classic! Not running the nodes in the version that people like is not theft.
