I would start by what content Etiquette is?.

Content Etiquette as it imply means a way to good behaviors in a society among particular groups of members of individuals to abide by the values, rules of conduct in a community. One of those valuse or code which is strong deals with what is called Plagiarism among others.

Defining Plagiarism:

Plagiarism is the act of the usage of ones idea or work as your own be it an article, a sentence of a published content, or a copy of a manuscript, it's all act of plagiarism which is a very bad thing too do, it's just like taking food in someone's kitchen without asking for a permission to do so which will eventually bring about bad impact on a persons personality. Plagiarism may be willing or unwilling depending on the state of act and also when it comes to examination procedures it is a disciplinary offence acted as malpractice.

Types of plagiarism:

  • Direct Plagiarism -This is the act of coping a work word to word without making changes in them or even referring to the original owner and also making claim as your work.

  • Accidental Plagiarism - This is an issue when one fails to cite sources or paraphrase unintentionally a source with unique words of sentences without attributes, this happens when one fails to use a proper method of citation.

  • Self-plagiarism - sometime authors do think that their old works has been forgotten and so copy their older works which has been used without stating that it was formally published work in the past.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism - This is when student make us of phrases from a source forgetting the use of quotation marks like "........",'.

What Causes Plagiarism?.

There are numerous of reasons to why people plagiarize as this could be the act of lack of been able to create new ideas but having the desire to be known, laziness is another aspect which involves lack of time management. Also there are some who are naturally cheaters and feel it's ok to be that way if it would bring success to them.

Avoiding the act of Plagiarism.

To do this one has to be honest in the usage of quotes, be very sensitive and careful while paraphrasing. One has to show commitment and confidence in his or her work.

Conclusion

The act is an offensive one which is punishable by law meaning it's a crime to copy one's work without permission from the owner, this act could destroy ones career. And as it is I do understand it's implications and tend to go by the rules and regulations of Steemit in avoiding plagiarism.

I have understood read the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and I will do the best to embrace them all.
