Peace Total Heroes #4: Abbey and her family (Love to death)

If one thinks of others despite grief and desperation and is selfless then that is the greatness of a superhero. Mama Abbey Ahern from the USA is such a superhero for me and the 4th "Peace Total Hero"!

At the 19th week of pregnancy, Abbey was diagnosed that her baby Annie was suffering from anencephaly, a malformation of the brain. The chance of survival was according to the doctors at 0.0 percent. Nevertheless, she decided to give birth to the child to donate its organs. "Annie seemed to be an ideal donor. She was completely healthy except for her brain. The decision was incredibly difficult but I wanted Annie's life to end up giving life to other children, "Abbey said in an interview.

Annie was born in June 2013. She lived for 14 hours and 58 minutes. The whole family was there and got to know their little daughter, love her and say goodbye.

Abbey: "She was surrounded by love, joy and peace all her life. There was no suffering, not even when she died. "In fact, Mama Abbey and daughter Annie are both "Peace Total Heroes" to me, and those sad-beautiful stories give me hope that humanity will prevail in this cold World without empathy.
