STEEM CAMEROON BEST DAY CONTEST | 02/09/2021 | by @benjamin09

Hello guys and welcome to my post on my best day this previous week. My best day last week was on Monday the 23rd of August 2021.

Introduction

I woke up that morning to the sound of my mom knocking my door to come and start working. It took me about 5-7 minutes to get out of bed because I was really tired as most of my night was spent online.
At first, I was baffled what she meant by come and work until I remembered that we had to paint our house (by ourselves).

I saw my elder sister @trayckierra mixing the paint and adding the colors of red and orange which gave the tertiary color peach🍑. She actually did some research on how to mix colors in order to get the best out of the paint. She also later on mixed a different bucket of paint with ratios of the red colorant and orange colorant which gave the color pink that we used to paint the inside of the garage.

I hurriedly changed from my sweats to a more appropriate dress which i can use to help with the painting. We (@rosita-nkefor and my mom) were advised by @trayckierra (the family doctor😅) to wear facemasks while doing the work in order to prevent us from inhaling the chemical smells from the paint that might likely damage our lungs.

We started painting from inside taking into consideration the fact that my mom tried brushing the dirt off the 18 year old walls before we started painting.
We started off with the kitchen at about 8:00am and later on continued in the dining room and the parlour.

By afternoon there was some downpour as we were continuing the painting outside and due to that and other events, I was unable to take the photos of the outside.

By 3:00pm, we took a break and ate the only food available in the house - garri, because everyone was preoccupied with the painting.

After the rain stopped for a while, we took this opportunity to paint the front part of the house. It was quite risky as I was the one - as the only boy, to take the risk of painting the upper parts of the wall. It is risky because rain was drizzling and the chair I was using wasn't the best, not to talk of the ladder😞. Also, when painting up, drops of paint could enter the eye and without immediate action, could lead to blindness. But thank God, nothing happened🙏.

Conclusion.

The reason I used this day for my best day contest, is primarily because it was a day when I and my siblings, with my mom, could bond more and increase our connection as a family, cause when the holiday season is over, we all separate and follow our different paths of life. It was a very special day for me indeed❤.
