NASI TUMPENG (cone-shaped rice)
Nasi Tumpeng is one of the ways to serve a dish of rice and side dishes in a cone-shaped. The rice that is usually used in general is yellow rice, but can also be used plain white rice. The way of serving rice is typical Javanese and is usually made at the time of feast or celebration of an important event (such as a birthday party). Nonetheless, Indonesians know this activity in general. Nasi Tumpeng is usually served on tampah (a traditional round woven bamboo tray/Javanese winnowing tray) and covered with banana leaves.
