The doctors of wisdom in the Bible: So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. Daniel 2:2

The doctors of wisdom have existed throughout the history of the ancient world, and especially in the Bible. For their ability to interpret dreams, to divine the future, and to perceive in the hidden with their mind, they have been recognized by princes and kings. In fact, the gospel of Saint Matthew mentions that Jesus was visited by three doctors of wisdom who came from the east when he was born, to offer to the baby gifts: "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem" Matthew 2:1.
The translation of the word magi from the Aramaic language means doctor of wisdom. The magi were people who in resume mastered a special knowledge about the immaterial realities, although this knowledge is not something totally unknown because in the Christian faith this knowledge is called eternal life. But over time the term magi or magician became vulgar and lost its original meaning, denoting in times of the Church and Christianity the people who perform illusionist tricks.
Is interesting to mention that there is a special reference to them in the Book of Daniel, when the most powerful man in the world at that time, King Nebuchadnezzar, the King of the Babylonian empire, had a dream he called first to the magi:
"In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep. So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king, he said to them, ´I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means" Daniel 2:1-3.
The doctors of wisdom as people instructed by God in the knowledge of supreme science are so important that they even appear in the most important prophecies of the modern world.
