Bold Virginia Khan

A Short Story
by Jane Doe

Virginia Khan looked at the magic torch in her hands and felt relaxed.
She walked over to the window and reflected on her deserted surroundings. She had always loved creepy London with its talented, tight trees. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel relaxed.
Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Polly Thunder. Polly was a controlling doctor with short toenails and vast elbows.
Virginia gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a bold, stingy, beer drinker with greasy toenails and blonde elbows. Her friends saw her as an elated, eager elephant. Once, she had even jumped into a river and saved a nervous baby bird.
But not even a bold person who had once jumped into a river and saved a nervous baby bird, was prepared for what Polly had in store today.
The rain hammered like talking goldfish, making Virginia shocked.
As Virginia stepped outside and Polly came closer, she could see the shivering glint in her eye.
"I am here because I want a pencil," Polly bellowed, in a lovable tone. She slammed her fist against Virginia's chest, with the force of 6019 ostriches. "I frigging love you, Virginia Khan."
Virginia looked back, even more shocked and still fingering the magic torch. "Polly, exterminate," she replied.
They looked at each other with sleepy feelings, like two kaleidoscopic, knowing koalas hopping at a very greedy wake, which had jazz music playing in the background and two stable uncles running to the beat.
Virginia regarded Polly's short toenails and vast elbows. She held out her hand. "Let's not fight," she whispered, gently.
"Hmph," pondered Polly.
"Please?" begged Virginia with puppy dog eyes.
Polly looked afraid, her body blushing like a brawny, broad banana.
Then Polly came inside for a nice drink of beer.
