Ricky's Photo Challenge - Week 11 - Architecture #1 Old and New.

in #rickysphotochallenge7 years ago (edited)

I was walking in the Old Tow streets of Vilnius, appreciating old architecture and taking some shots that most tourists do when i saw a passage into an inner yard. From my experience i know that if you want to find something else most people miss you have to take an alternate route.

In the inner yard among taller buildings i have found this small shack that looked abandoned. Despite it's poor looks i was surprised and pleased to see nice flowers on the front porch. You do not have to be very rich to take care and look after.

I like the contrast of this depreciating building and new fresh tulip blossom growing on front of it as this small details brings so much freshness and life into contrasting building.

This is such an awesome find among the ordinary. People who are considered poor, are familiar with the way people judge their poverty levels. Looking at this makes it harder to separate that sense of worth from economic status.

A beautiful shot. Upped and Steemed

It is indeed. For some reason we are a hypocrite society. On one hand we praise decentralization and fair equity distribution while welcoming new technology and paradigms. On the other way we have so much prejudice towards people with less income, for which they may have very good reasons...

Truth. I volunteered in a homeless shelter while in college. It gives one a different perspective on "what poor looks like" Also the fact that anyone could end up in that position. Nobody is immune.

Indeed. I was buying brand new convertibles from dealership in 2009. After that crisis i had to start building all over again. And i know now, that even though money is nice, it is not a thing that makes you happy by itself.

I too appreciate the contrast.... and the simple beauty of the scene also... ;-)

This is wonderful! Thanks for posting to #distinctivewindows. Tip!

The flowers are the first thing I noticed :) Very well taken care of.
You should go back in early summer to see the how darker bushes bloom. That could be some view ;)

I will definitely do that for you and post it on steemit @ewkaw :)

Beautiful photo!

Hah! I actually saw the flowers last (well, with my internet connection, that's not really surprising...) but in full screen, I was admiring the plaster and bricks on the wall! And yeahhh, the red tulips do add a nice touch to the scene... :)

That is a small tiny accent that adds so much to the image.
