Barcelona Out of the Champions League

After a 4-1 comfortable first leg win, Spanish Champions and 5 times winners of the UEFA Champions League Barcelona were defeated by Roma. The victory for the Italian Club who are at the moment 4th on the home table came after scoring 3-0 in the second leg to overturn the first leg win by Barcelona. The match which was played at Stadio Olimpico Rome, saw Roma secure a spot to the Semi-final of the Competition with the home goal rule . The result came as a surprise to many in a match that featured Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez for Barcelona. Dzeko got the first goal in the 6th minute, De Rossi scored the spot kick in the 58th minute and to cap the victory for Roma, Manolas scored a stunning header in the 82nd Minutes. Although Barcelonae had 57 percent ball control, the Spanish team only had 9 goal attempts compared to 16 attempts from Roma. Meanwhile in the other match Manchester City lost to Liverpool 1-2 after failing to overturn a 3-0 first leg lost.
