Wedding Bun Tuto, more like 2 times than one!
You want to play Charlène de Monaco at your wedding? Or Audrey Hepburn to your best friend's? We have tested for you 2 chignons made in 15 minutes... enough to give you plenty of time on the day! It was at the prestigious salon Alexandre in Paris that Alexandra and I tested these hairstyles. The main steps are shown in pictures.
The bun on a blonde hair
The first step is brushing on dry, unclean hair in the morning, with large strands of hair wrapped in tweezers.
a hairpiece of 9cm diameter is laid and wicks, previously brushed, are rolled up and fixed with snow pins.
the wicks cover on both sides the hairpiece with the tip that "rebique".
the locks are fixed on the tips for a natural "wave" effect, as if they were about to be detached.
I love this photo: you can notice that the artistic director, Mr. Minetti, works with the assistance of a person making all the accessories available to him one by one. Also, we don't forget at each step a good shot of Elnett lacquer.
The bun on long dark hair
We make a strip on the side and then we create a big wick at the back of the skull and on the sides, at the "Hair Spray".
A hairpiece is placed to give volume, and this creped hair is fixed on the hairpiece.
The wicks on each side of the face are smoothed and then fixed at the back, with a nice round movement under the hairpiece.
A last wick is out for a small angelic side, to be placed behind the ear or not. Alexandra's ready for Cannes, right?
It goes without saying that these chignons can be made at home with the help of a friend or relative to create all these movements, fix the strands, but it is possible, isn't it?
If you prefer to have it done in the living room, a prestigious bun costs €110. If a hairpiece is used, you will have to pay €50 to rent it and leave a deposit of €150. On the other hand, the bridal bunting costs €220 in the salon, the hairdressing test costs €150 in the salon and is done about 1 month before the final hairstyle.
