My Previous Life

in #music4 years ago

I have been cleaning my house like mad the last couple of weeks.

This is mainly because I want to downsize on the amount of stuff I have.

Of course when I do this, I always get stopped by the box of random keepsakes that keeps me distracted for hours.

I found a bunch of pictures in there that I thought I would share with ya'll from my life before kids! AKA my performing years!

(This was when I was in the show "Titanic" as Charlotte Cardoza. The set and costumes were top notch!

(Another Titanic picture with all the other first class ladies! I am on the very right!)

(My ex boyfriend and I in a production of Wizard of Oz together. I would say it's pretty clear who I was playing.)

(Once on This Island as "Asaka: Mother of the Earth!)

(Me as Miss Sarah in Guys and Dolls, and another one of my exes that played Benny, I think?)

(Me playing Nancy in the show "Oliver)

(Yet another pic from Titanic! I wasn't joking when I said the costumes were legit!)

(Tiny me soloing for the Phoenix Show Choir!)

(A little older but still tiny me soloing for over 15k people at an America Sings concert!)

So this is what I did before my full time job became home school teacher and nanny and maid! (And Steemit blogger of course!) Just thought I would share a little piece of my past with you.

It was great to wander through history of photos and know more about yourself

Thanks so much! That was super kind! :)

I remember the days when a picture was something we held.

Right? It's such a different experience!

I remember having a camera as a kid. Don't waste film. Those were the rules. I look at some of those pictures today. I wasted film.

I had those disposable cameras on field trips and such as a kid, and like, I kept the pics and they are of literally nothing. A blurry shoe in one, some resemblance of landscape in the other. It was always really fun though waiting for your film to develop. It's great now that we can see what pics we have, and not have to waste money on potentially 24 prints of garbage, but I do miss the excitement!

I had a lot of Nintendo games. Kids in school didn't believe me when I said I could beat all Nintendo games. I played all my games to the end, rented a few as well and finished those. I'd take a picture of the end screen. Finally, after a long time and many nights of getting yelled at to go to bed, the film was full and I had my bragging rights.

Got the pictures developed. 36 pictures of a television with a distorted glowing colorful orb of brightly blurred nothingness in the center. Forgot to shut off the flash.

That's the most tragic thing I have ever read. Haha.

Very nice! I'm cleaning out too, and understand! the finds can send me back to a part of myself I'd forgotten.
So I gather by home school teacher, nanny and maid that you are a mom?

Yep. My kids are 8, 5 and 4. It is much easier to teach their different grades than I thought it would be though! The only bad part about it is I find everything starts to meld together, and I never really feel like I get a break!

Yes every minute of every day must be a teaching moment if you're not relying on someone else to do it for you. I did not do it, but I sure wish now that I had. Good for you.
