Stay Home Challenge - Sunsets from around the World

One thing I miss the most as long as we don't travel are sunsets. Sunsets are magical, especially on Bali. During all the time we spent on Bali, there was hardly an evening we have not spent on the beach. Be it a walk on the Berawa Beach or a cold beer in one of the many beach bars, it was always beautiful.

But just like other mothers have beautiful daughters, other countries have beautiful sunsets and here are a few.

Noosa Heads, Australia

Noosa Heads alone is worth a visit with its National Park and its perfect waves there. Since this is on the east coast the sun does not go down in the ocean, like on Bali for example. Therefore it is not that spectacular, at least if you don´t know where to be when the sun sets.

If you go to the Laguna Lookout within the Nationalpark you will have to most amazing view over the Noosa River and it gets much better as soon as the sun goes down.

For me it is one of the best places on the Sunshine Coast to watch the sunset. But I can also recommend to do a sunset cruise on the Noosa River.

Cafe del Mar, Ibiza

This is probably the most known sunset point within Europe. Even if the sunset is probably magical in some places on Ibiza, I can definitely recommend the Cafe del Mar. I have never seen so many people in one place just to watch the sunset. Hundreds of people gather every single evening at this place to enjoy this absolutely gorgeous sunset with relaxed music and cool drinks.

But don´t worry, there is enough space to find a quite place. Furthermore you do not have to sit in that "Cafe", most people don´t do.

Or if you want to make a really special experience you can book a sunset paraglider flight and enjoy it from up in the air.

Berawa Beach on Bali, Indonesia

Last but not least, the beach that was my favorite beach for a long time, Berawa Beach on Bali.

Although it can be quite dirty during wet season this was my favorite beach for so long. It´s the atmosphere and the sunsets here that make it special. I´ve spent countless hours watching that sunset from the water while surfing the last waves of the day. Or hanging around with friends at our favorite beach bar Naked Coconut.

The sunset looked different every evening and even when the weather was not that good it was still worth to wait until the sun was gone. Unfortunately that magic is gone as the whole area gets sold bit by bit to the big investors. Such a shame!
