Let's make it clear: you are the only person you can and should compare yourself with. Life is not a competition.

Have you ever had such a thing, no matter what you do, you're never good enough ? That you are never satisfied with yourself, no matter what? Well, if it's you, you're not alone.

There are too many of us who have it all too often.

Often we happen to be torn by expectations as we have told ourselves that we are going to meet . We are also trying to reach the goals that others have set for us, but we do not find motivating.

If you work towards them, you can end up satisfying others. But you will leave yourself with an empty, burned or helpless feeling.

You may feel like you are not enough. This can be physical - with all these models with perfect bodies - either academically or professionally. Or maybe it has to do with your family's expectations that you fit into a box that you can not or do not want to fit into.

This is not healthy. In this article we will offer you some tips to get out of this hole you find yourself in.

  1. Remember that everyone is unique
    This is a good first step. When you acknowledge that everyone is different, you understand that it makes no sense to try to be someone else.

You are unique. Even though you may have weak areas , you also have many strengths that make you who you are.

When you understand that nobody is like you, you begin to see the good things by yourself, and you will realize that comparison with others is useless.

This will also help you appreciate other people without criticizing their differences . With a little luck, your worldview could change completely.

Appreciate yourself Stop feeling you're not good enough and start to see yourself for the unique individual you are.

  1. You choose your own goals

We often let ourselves go with the flow and believe what society tells us:

If you are overweight, it is better to be thin as a model.
You're not beautiful if your face and your body are not like an actress.
If you do not have money or a big house, you're not successful.
It should not be like this. Success is measured differently for each individual and you must not measure your opponents expectations.

If you are overweight, your goal should not be like a catwalk model, but rather to achieve healthy weight.

And you do not need much money to be a successful person . Perhaps you will realize that learning and trying to be a better person every day is more than enough to do well with yourself.

Remember, each goal is as unique as the one that puts it , so do not let others put them for you.

  1. Effort is not the same as suffering

Something that happens often is that you set yourself a goal, work on it and you think that the suffering it implies is normal . But it is not.

If what you're working toward is hurting you and making you feel that you're not enough, you should figure out if that's the way you really want to go.

Although all roads lead to Rome, you must decide what your Rome is. In other words, if you feel stuck to this road or if the goal is not as you hoped for then you can stop.

Find out if these feelings are just resentment or if it's because the goal is not what you expected.

If that's not what you expected, then be fine with this. It's never too late to start something new.

If you are on the wrong path, change your route. You are the owner of your life and the only one who has to love it is yourself.

  1. You are perfect

Many times when you feel that you are not good enough, it comes with the idea that if you do not do anything perfect then you are a failure.

You must keep in mind that you are perfect just by being yourself. When you want perfection, you bind yourself to being a person you are not and it will be a long, hard journey.

Being perfect in everything is not natural and will not make you happy. You should be proud of everything you've done, even your mistakes .

After all, they learned you things that will make you a better person for the rest of your life.

  1. Stop feeling you are not good enough
    Finally, this is the most important and most complex step, as you have to understand that stopping the feeling that you are not good enough is something that you can only do.

Overall, happiness and acceptance is something that happens from the inside out.

When you begin to appreciate the path you've taken that has taken you to where you are today. Do you want to realize how much you've grown and all you've overcome.

Then you will find that you are not only enough; You are a winner
