The story about the man with four wives

This story is about a man who has four wives, one day the man was gravely ill and he was afraid to be alone without being accompanied by one of his wives in the afterlife. So he called his four wives one by one and asked them whether they are willing to die and accompany him on his journey to the afterlife.

He called his fourth wife first as he loves her the most, and he gave her diamond, gold, and elegant clothing before asking if she would die with him and go with him to the afterlife. But the fourth wife apologized to him, telling him that she can't do so and then walked away.

He then called his third wife, the one that he also loves and so proud of. He loves to show her off to his friends and other people, but when he asked her whether she is willing to die and accompany him in the afterlife, she also unwilling to do so. She replied by saying that she loves her life too much and will never want to die, and she told him that she will remarry once the man is dead.

The man felt so sad, so he called his second wife, the one who he loves and who has always been on his side in his time of need and despair. He asked her if she is willing to accompany him to the afterlife, but she also apologizes and said that she can't help him and the only thing that she is willing to do is arrange for his funeral and being at his funeral.

The man became so devastated by the responses that he gets from the three wives that he loves so much, he almost gave up but then he heard a voice calling him out. It was his first wife, pale and skinny looking, and she told him that she is willing to die and accompany him into the afterlife. The man was tremendously embarrassed and filled with grief when he heard what his first wife has told him, he never loved her and has been neglecting her all this time. He acknowledges his past mistakes and admits that he should have taken a better care of her while he was able.

The moral of the story

Actually, the story represents the four wives that we have in our life. Yes, you heard me right, we all have four wives in our lives no matter if you are a man or a woman.

The fourth wife represents our BODY

No matter how much time and effort that we have to make it look good, but once we died, our body will leave us. Our body will decompose and became a rotten flesh when we died.

The third wife represents our POSSESSIONS, STATUS and WEALTH

When we die, we cannot bring it with us into our afterlife, whatever that belongs to the earth stays in the earth, and all of it will then go to others.

The second wife represents our FAMILY and FRIENDS

No matter how close our families and our friends were when we are alive, the furthest that they can do is to stay by us up to our grave.

The first wife represents our SOUL

Be honest, we have often neglected our soul in our pursuit of earthly materials, wealth and pleasures. When we died, all that is left is our soul, if you are the religious type, you will surely know which way our soul will depart depending on how we live our life on earth.

The CONCLUSION

Take care of our body, live healthily, enjoy our life and the comfort that our possessions provide us. Love and cherish our families and friends, but never forgets to nourish our soul. Take time for ourselves, to pray and be thankful to our creator and our God for what he has given us in this life.
