The massive crash of 2008 was mostly blamed in part to the financial sector and the housing markets collapsing. What many fail to recognize is the huge role that high frequency played in contributing to the crash. I stumbled across this amazing eye opening video that elaborates on the subject and provides an interesting take on the crash. I never took this into account for my investing strategy previously. Quite long but well worth the watch. Very interesting, especially if you invest in the long term.
