Yarsagumba, is a rare and unique herb that grows in the Himalayan region of Nepal. There are various types of famous medicinal plants found in Nepal but the popularity of yarsagumba is simply overwhelming. These photos are from my travelling diaries from major himalayan region of Nepal.
Every year, thousands of tourists come here to trek on the Annapurna circuit which takes them high into the snowy mountains. Yarsagumba, the small, fragile, mummified body of the Himalayan bat moth caterpillar that has been invaded by a fungus - and which is famous throughout the Himalayas as a powerful medicine.
Species of plant widely used both in clinical medicine and as well as a household remedy. Yarsagumba is also considered potent at strengthening lung and kidneys, increasing energy and vitality, stopping hemorrhage.
