Using Resource Credits to create free Account
So HardFork 20 for Steem has now settled in and we now see a few changes happening in Steem. Biggest noticeable change is surely the curation rewards. You will now realize that most voting will commence at the 15th minute mark. This is to maximize curation rewards.
The other major change was the addition of RESOURCE CREDIT what we know as RC. To check how much RC you have you can see it thru http://steemnow.com/@yourusername
What's so great about the implementation of RC ? As how much RC you have is literally determined by how much Steem Power you have. ( Stake more STEEM POWER yo ! )
- You'll realize that you get way less spam. ( spam accounts burn thru their RC way much faster with senseless spam on the steem blockchain )
- It takes roughly 5 days to recover your RC to 100% from 0% .
- You are not able to sell your RC , the only way to earn RC is to either power up more or get some delegation to increase your RC.
With the introduction of RC , we are also now able to create free instant accounts using our own RC. But its set at an extremely high price to pay and may take you days to recover your RC.

BUT !
You would need about 7,169,838,348,407 RC ! To create the account !
So in summary ! You would literally need to be a Dolphin ( 5,000 Steem Power ) and above to create a new account for free. The only thing is that once you create the account, you would have used up so much of your Resource Credits that you would require to wait a couple of days before being able to do much on the Steem Blockchain again.
The other method which would be way much simpler is to pay for your account by using tools like Blocktrade. https://blocktrades.us/create-steem-account . This would only cost about 4 Steem and its very much immediate.
So which would you prefer to do ? Create a new account using your Resource Credits ? Or just pay for it ? Of course you can go thru the conventional method of just signing up and wait a long time for your account.

As a newbie, steemit seems like it needs its own college course with an open bar in the class

I tried to claim and create one today, and my RC drop from 100 to 2%. The newly created account has 0sp and I end up having to delegate some to it for it to be usable.
yea .. i guess as much . its crazy ! i guess only whales are able to go on a account creation spree. I was hoping for it to cost way much less .. but then again , its then open to abuse.
