In the Premier League, all games were postponed until at least the 30th of April and will only resume if the conditions allow and it being safe to play. Italy, Germany and Spain have also moved their leagues' remaining matches indefinitely. Even Football's European governing body, UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), has followed suit. European countries have accumulated the most coronavirus cases and deaths.
As a result, football clubs were forced to impose salary cuts to their players due to the financial crisis. In Bundesliga, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, and Cologne have already imposed pay cuts as the players signaled they are ready to waive part of their salaries to help the club. Given the indefinite time of matches to be resumed, other football clubs are expected to follow.
