Stressing 4 Our Turtles Event!!!

I’m a few hours away from our big event at the shop. Surprisingly I’m not terribly stressed, although there have been plenty of hiccups in getting here. We are holding a signing which can be read about here if interested.

Luckily one of those hiccups was the actual task of picking the artists up in New York. They are all popping over from Greece and that’s where they are staying while in the states. It’s about an hour and twenty minute drive, and we had it all planned but unfortunately the party that we initially had grabbing them had to back out. I’m fortunate enough that my buddy @falcore stepped up and volunteered to grab em which was awesome as it was one less stressful thing to have to worry about. He’s actually on his way now to grab them. Fingers crossed for no traffic.

All the other bumps seemed to have been smoothed over except one which I’ll just have to live with. I had struck a deal for 150 comics with a shop owner in Canada. These were other books in addition to our variants that the main artist Michael Dialynas had worked on. I paid extra to ensure proper delivery prior to the event. Well...because the karma gods hate me...it sat in Customs for several days and is now showing delivery for Monday. The day AFTER they are needed for the signing. It’s only several hundred bucks wasted...Of course...

Other than that, it looks like we are on track. I’m going to pop in the shower in a minute and head over to the shop to do some last minute tidying up. @dfinney will be happy to know that I not only cleared a lovely walking path in the back, but the bathroom itself is spotless...or...well...presentable to shit it with your eyes closed. Yay!!! Now it doesn’t look like the bathroom in Saw anymore.

I worked my ass off redoing our comic wall. This area is one of my favorites in the shop. On display are 7 rows containing 110 comics each totaling...c’mon guys...you can do it...770 books!!! Good for you and your math skills! It’s a wide variety of expensive classic keys and first appearances, variant covers, low cost keys, and just all around cool looking books.

It’s a real sight to see and we waited to place lots of books specifically for this event just to make a good impression. Some of the tasty books up here include 1st appearances of Deadpool, Venom, Gambit, Rhino, Scorpion and so much more!

Ok...gotta go now. Still lots to do and I’m getting the bubbles in my tummy. Gotta meet the band so they can set up for what should be an awesome and hysterical concert! Still have to move a ton of stuff around to accommodate for the signing. Argh!!!! Updates later! Wish us luck!!!
