Firefox beta for Snapdragon notebooks with Windows 10
Mozilla has announced the availability in the beta channel of a Firefox build dedicated to PCs Always Connected with Windows 10 and Qualcomm Snapdragon processor . This is the natural evolution of the collaboration between Mozilla and Qualcomm announced last year to create a native version of the well-known browser for ARM64 architecture.
Today's version is based on work done to optimize Firefox Quantum performance, so that it uses more processes as efficiently as possible. In this case, Mozilla worked to make the most of the eight core chips of the US company. "We are also taking advantage of Rust's fearless concurrency to intelligently divide browsing activities on these cores to deliver a fast, personal and affordable experience."
The Always Connected PCs with Snapdragon processors target users who are always on the move and who often move around with their notebooks. It is in fact thin, light, fanless devices with a long battery life (about 20 hours of work and 30 days in stand-by) and fast connectivity thanks to the integrated modem.
"We're not new to optimizing Firefox for any device. Suffice it to say that we have customized and customized browsers for the most diverse devices, from Fire TV to the new iPad, because it should not affect which device you use but the experience you offer your users ".
If you are curious to try this version of Firefox you can download it from this address, Mozilla is looking for your feedback to improve your browser.
