The blood of the martyrs and the honor earned by the mothers and sisters in the war of independence, the general public as well as the country's educated society has made an outstanding contribution. Rajshahi University teachers-students, staff-officials have a huge part in that contribution.

We are the nation that gained independence by fighting for nine long months. People of all walks of life have made an outstanding contribution to this freedom gained through the blood of millions of martyrs. He did not hesitate to give his life to the Pakistani aggressors for independence. In exchange for the honor of thousands of mothers and the blood of the martyrs, a red-green flag and a map of fifty-six thousand square miles have been given to us by the Pakistani aggressors.

The contribution of the martyrs will never be forgotten. Under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the peasants, workers, students and teachers of this country jumped against the Pak aggressors. In order to liberate the country from the hands of hyenas, people in villages, towns and ports were burning like fireballs.

The teachers, students, officers and employees of Rajshahi University (RU) have left an outstanding example by participating in this war by uniting with the people of the country and holding the hand of the struggling tradition. Rajshahi University has always played a strong role not only in the great war of independence but also in all the crises of national life.

Along with the great war of independence, the history and tradition of the country has made an outstanding contribution to the university. The teachers, students and officials of the university have played a leading role in the mass uprising of '69, the general election of '70, the liberation war of '71 and the anti-authoritarian mass movement of '90.
