MOLESTED! ( STACH Short Story Contest #25: I trusted him... look what he did to me)

He was in his late twenties, a teacher in the children's church, charming and loved by all.

I was eight. He became my hero. How glad I was when he began to show interest in me! I became his special little friend and he bought gifts for me, my Bro Daniels.

I was ten when he became my home tutor, then my lover. It was our secret. I was beautiful, our love would last forever, he promised.

Until the day I carelessly said something at the school counselling session. And Mrs Badejo prodded till everything came spilling out.

Next, my parents were summoned; the church was notified. Bro Daniels denied it all! He denied me. No one believed. "Such a good man!" all hailed. And it was not surprising.

In three months he was married! That was a surprise. It was then I realised how he had exploited me.

And so I lived with the stigma. I became the liar, the outcast, the pariah.

And here's my closest friend telling me she trusted her 7-year-old's private teacher, a male! And looking at me as if I had gone bunkers. Didn't she believe me too?

This is my entry for STACH's short story contest #25, a story in 199 words or less based on the prompt: I TRUSTED HIM... LOOK WHAT HE DID TO ME.

Thanks @antigenx. Brevity was one of the requirements for the contest.

Ouch, the betrayal of trust is heartbreaking. Very good story write up, managed to make me flow along the emotions of the story @boladayl :) All the best!
