Ever gone to a place to purchase something but unfortunately, you can't find it. Supermarkets got you covered. Though they are not as big and accommodating as malls but they can't lack basic necessities. You'll always find your body lotion there. In business studies, they are called closed markets because prices are fixed. One popular supermarket in my locality is Judel supermarket. The supermarket is named after the owner and manager.

Judel supermarket isn't on Google maps but with the tracking system in a map, you can use pictures to get the exact location of this supermarket. That's exactly what I did. It's beside a popular church in my locality and good enough, it has bought the heart of many who go far places to purchase things. It's a big supermarket and the small supermarkets can't be compared to it.

Welcome to Judel Supermarket

Judel supermarket is a closed market in my area that can satisfy your wants. It has all you need which prevents the cost of transportation to malls and big supermarkets where you can make your purchases. It is centered at the heart of my locality which has a neighbouring village — Uruan local government area.

This is the entrance of Judel Supermarket. It has its supermarket name bolded written at the top. Since its a storey-building, he choose to take the ground floor to do his business leaving the upside vacant. It's a sizable supermarket with a capacity of 50 people max. at a time. It's not as big as a mall but tries to position itself as such.

Judging the width of the building, it's more rectangular than square. At the entrance of this supermarket, breads are kept on shelves, waste bins by the side of the entrance, mop sticks and other drinks which doesn't occupy space but attract customers. Most times I wonder why all local supermarkets keep bread at the entrance. I later got a reply that they do this to prevent the bread from spoiling. The ventilation in the supermarket may not be enough to keep it fresh as there's no AC in the supermarket.

Counter

The counter where payment is done and goods are sampled for confirmation isn't that big which sometimes block the entrance of the supermarket. And the fact that it's pinned by the entrance makes it overcrowded. According to him, that position was the only place he could possibly position to accommodate shelves. On his counter, he has a POS machine to receive payments through online transactions and has a desktop computer where he calculates what a person expends and give the total value for payment to be proceeded.

On his counter, he has small chewables, gums and other attractive small things that can capture the eyes and minds of buyers. Things on counter finishes faster than things in the supermarket because customers have direct contact with these things. I'll be showing you some sections of the supermarket starting from the entrance and what these section houses.

Bread Shelf

This is where the bread shelve is located in case you visit the supermarket. You don't need to ask. All you do is just to go there and select the type of bread you want and boom, you bro g it to the counter. This bread shelve is located at the entrance of the supermarket. The supermarket has no checkout point which may not really be necessary because of the presence of CCTV cameras. Check point for confirmation of goods is also necessary to avoid theft.

Egg Shelf and Snacks — Shelf 1

Egg shelf is found opposite the counter, its packed in crates and below are snacks anyone can pick. These includes; gala, cookies, munch it, pop corn, chips, noodles etc for retail and wholesale. The good are sampled in an attractive way for customers. Let's start with identification from the right side close to the counter.

This is a food and beverage shelf that accommodates food items such as;

So in essence, this particular shelf has things both men and women need to look good, smelly good and treat their physical body. The shelf on the other side, that's the left side if you're going in houses all types of body lotion and soaps for usage. Your type of cream can easily be found there without needing to stretch in search. Your type of soaps too can be found there as different brands are sampled.

Additionally, beauty care products or skincare products are sold there. I've bought a skincare product there. These skincare products are of different types and categories;

• Spot removal
• Glowy skin
• Oily skin lookout
• Lip balms
• Face masks etc..

Expiry date of these products are 2-3 years ahead

Shelf 4 and 5

This shelf houses toiletries in retail and bulk. There are different types of tissue papers and cream for children. This shelf houses these products especially for children and babies. These includes;

• Vaseline
• Powder for babies
• Baby's oil
• Baby's lotion

Toiletries	Cleaning agents

Shelf 5 houses detergents, toiletries, washing materials etc. This category is classified under cleaning agents. The products that follows this line includes;

• Teeth whitening and cleaning products
• Detergents for washing
• Chemicals for washing and cleaning
• Air fresheners

These products are classified this way to avoid contamination. Imagine toiletries and these washing products in food section. A customer would be like, what are they doing in food section which can indirectly make other products unsafe.

Shelf 5 has two sides which are the left and right hand side. The other side are kept for pampers of all types and brands. People who have babies buy in bulk. This particular part of the shelf is exclusively for pampers.

Shelf 7 and 8

This shelf 7 houses other utensils and equipment that can be used at home, office spaces etc. **These includes;

• Kitchen utensils
• Gas cylinders
• Stationary materials and other utensils other than food and clothing.

It also have an extension which is quite close it and forms a joining at 7. It's shelf 8. Shelf 8 houses all kinds of wine, spirits, hots, alcohol etc. Wines like Eva, new heaven and spirits like Desperado etc are kept on this shelf. So if you need alcoholic drinks and spirits, just go to this Shelf located at the far end of the mart.

Shelf 9 and 10

Shelf 9 houses belts and shoes one can sample but the prices are scary since it's a supermarket for both the rich and the poor. What you can't afford, the rich would afford. Prices of products are moderate though. Shelf 10 is the last shelf behind the counter at the top corner. The picture explains it well.

These are the major shelves in this supermarket. The shelves are placed to guide customers on where they can locate a particular product. A customer won't go to food products shelf and look for detergents or cleaning agents. The presence of a chiller and two medium sized freezers are used to store drinks and other liquids except wine and others.

My humble review about this place is that it has met the standard requirements for supermarkets. It prices are fixed but also affordable. Quality and only quality are sold there. The man has a strong taste for good things and isn't just after stocking his shop with many goods even though they are essential. Judel supermarket is a market for the people.
