Vienna, Austria (Wien, Österreich) - Road Trip #1

COPYRIGHT FREE PHOTOS. Past few days I've been in Vienna, Austria. I'm posting here lots of pictures from that road trip which I took past days for Steemians to enjoy. You can use pictures unconditionally as you wish. There is no copyright applied on them.

I lived in Vienna for almost four years. And during that time I collected wonderful memories with my wife and my daughter. Past days I've been walking through the city reminding myself on beautiful days spent with my family.

In the First district (Innerstadt) tourists can take rides with horse wagons or electric cars styled as old 19th century cars.

Teslas are common sight in the First district.

On the picture below is Michaelsplatz. Very popular point for tourists where ancient Roman walls can be seen.

On the next picture is inner Hofburg inner courtyard.

Beautiful arch on images below is entrance into the Hofburg monastery.

The arch is guarded by two lions.

Here are more pictures of Hofburg. In Hofburg you can find lots of attractions and sights among which are three museums Royal Apartments, Royal Silver Vault and Sisi Museum. Also there is Spanish Riding School founded by Empress Sisi. You can find more information about Hofburg at https://www.hofburg-wien.at/

Across Hofburg main gate is Maria Theresien Platz with two big museums Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum) and Art History Museum (Kunsthistorisches Museum). These two buildings are almost identical.

I visited Natural History Museum once and I can say it is very interesting and it has enormous collection built through centuries.

Across Maria Theresien Platz is Museums Quartier (Museums Courtyard). This is large building and courtyard with lots of museums and art galleries in it. The courtyard is usual meeting point for students and other young people.

Going towards exit to the Mariahilfer Straße there are three passages always freshly painted into art pieces.

Mariahilfer Straße is situated in Vienna's 6th district and it was once very known as popular shopping area. Nowadays popular shopping destinations are enormous shopping mall SCS - Shopping City Süd just below Vienna's 23rd district and Parndorf towards Hungarian border. And there are other shopping areas like couple of them in Vienna's north. Still there are lots of shops in Mariahilfer Straße. And it's area is still very busy.

Image below is Mariahilf Kirche which can be find in Mariahilfer Straße. I think that the street got name by this church.

Am Graben is one of the central streets where luxurious shops can be found.

Julius Meinel is famous coffee brand. Everything started in this orange building. Meinel's descendant sold the brand to a large food corporation. But he kept some other businesses and this building as well as branded wine bar in it's basement.

Vienna is full of details on buildings which I find very beautiful and interesting. Lots of then several centuries old.

For the end of this Vienna reportage here are some pictures from the 16th district known by Ottakringer brewery. Ottakringer is the largest Viennese brewery.
