Greetings everyone,
This post is a compilation of 10 of the top 'football themed' musical numbers which I felt were most entertaining. I am sure you have heard most of them, or even all of them, but still I wanted to share my Top 10 choices with you all with a bit of info.
I would like to clarify here that, this is just my choice of songs and choices may obviously vary with tastes of music from people to people. This list is in no particular order (just a collection of 10 footy songs over the years). So let's begin....
🔊 Magic In The Air
Single by Moroccan musical group Magic System featuring singer Ahmed Chawki. Released during the buildup to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Gained immense popularity.
🔊 We Are One (Ola Ola)
This was the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It was recorded by popular rapper Pitbull with guests including Jennifer Lopez and singer Claudia Leitte among others. Attracted huge commercial success across the continents.
🔊 El Rock del Mundial (The World Cup Rock)
This is a single by Chilean rock band Los Ramblers (The Ramblers) in connection with the 1962 FIFA World Cup that was held in Chile. This was the official song of the football extravaganza in Latin America. This musical work climbed the charts in the entire continent and became the best selling single in the country's musical history.
🔊 Wavin' Flag (Celebration Mix)
The original song was meant for a different cause (aimed at aspirations of freedom for Somali people). However a similar and amended version became an unofficial hit during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. This song by Somali-Canadian artist K'naan was chosen as Coca Cola's promo song for the World Cup that year.

This was the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa. The song featuring South Africa band Freshlyground was sung by popular Colombian singer none other than Shakira. One of the most loved football themed songs even today.

French musician Vegedream released this song in 2018 a few days after France were crowned the FIFA World Cup champions 2018. It became viral in several social media sites and popular among Tiktokers. It smashed the French singles musical charts just in a couple of weeks. The song lyrics include names of the entire French squad in melodious tunes.

This song by Dutch DJ Martin Garrix ft. Bono and the Edge from Irish rock band U2 was the official song for the UEFA Euro 2020. It was first performed via a virtual opening ceremony at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

French DJ and music producer David Guetta and popular Swedish singer Zara Larsson were the key people behind this track. It was the official song for the UEFA Euro 2016.
🔊 The Cup of Life (La Copa de la Vida)
This was the official song of the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. The song was recorded by Puerto Rican artist Ricky Martin with a mix of Samba and Latin pop genre loaded with football heavy themes.
🔊 Anthem
Vangelis, Greek musical artist and songwriter composed this theme music for 2002 FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan. It was regarded as a commercial success in Japan as the song bagged the Song of the Year from RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan).
