BTC payments without the Internet

in #brainfeed6 years ago (edited)

In an age where people have access to the internet access it is easy to forget that in many parts of the world the net does not exist. This maybe due to lack of infrastructure or perhaps due to economics.

Some of those people are limited to 3g or 4g connections for telephone and/or data, but again it required infrastructure.

How good would it be if we could use satellites, with free upload and downloads of small packets of information, for example sending 140char payment transactions from anywhere on the planet.

It seems that this tech is upon us, and is moving forward at a great rate. If each village had the transceiver equipment installed that all withing a local area could buy and sell goods easily and for free.

The adoption of BTC and other Alt coin payments via satellite could add another few billion people globally to the Crypto Express.

Time will tell
