Activision Walkout
Hi Friends,
My Activision Blizzard (video game maker) investment got smashed this week:
News came out about a potential walk out of the employees in protest for management not taking sexual assault allegations at the workplace seriously. A lawsuit was recently filed, and the company spun it as false and incorrect, but the employees say there is a toxic culture in the company and the dismissiveness of the company toward the sexual assault allegations is out of line.
The company has been backtracking in light of the employee's push back, and has hired a law firm to conduct an investigation into this culture problem.
I invested a number of years ago, and the investment has been a disappointment. While I am still up 35%, the overall markets are much higher during that same time frame. I had wanted to get in on the ground floor of the esports gaming/stadium competitions, but instead, I have seen lackluster growth in an industry that should be booming with people stuck at home and more kids playing video games than ever.
Maybe it is time I moved on to a different investment - what do you think?

Right now there is much more technology, more social networks than a decade ago and that means that the video game industry does not grow as much as before.
