COINS MAKE NOISE.. NOTES DON'T..

One reason we studied social studies in elementary school was to understand culture and diversity.

The culture and mentality of some tribes are loud, flamboyant, and about building personal empires.

Whereas the culture and mentality of other tribes are to be simple (which ordinarily, is a good thing), and yet take control of the state politically and religiously.

If the former holds public office, and diverts ordinary one million dollars of government funds, his whole village will know. He will show everyone pepper. No one can rest again.

Convoy.
Red carpet.
Chieftaincy title.
Bigger party than the one Okoro did for his daughter last year.
Front seat in church

...and on and on.

Whereas, the latter, after systematically looting ten billion dollars, may indeed have more cars and properties here and there, yet it will still be the same style of babariga he wears. He will still sit on the floor and pray on the mat on the floor, without fanfare or vuvuzela.

You wont know where his houses are, or where his children are schooling. He will never announce or flaunt it, except some form of public light shines on him. If he marries more wives, it isn't different from what his other kinsmen are doing.

His simple lifestyle does not change. Yet nearly every decision making position in the polity will be filled by his kinsmen. Why do you think that is? They just like power? No.

You may have no agenda, some others do.
It's not the way you think, it is the way they think. That you don't think so, will not change their culture, and belief system

You are in and are looking at two terms, at most; they think in terms of dynasties. You are thinking of retiring wealthy, they want to take over politically and religiously

And chicken change does not accomplish such things.

Yet some think that even though the government has failed woefully in fulfilling its manifesto in everything from security to infrastructure to the economy, maybe at least corruption is not as rife or as entrenched in government as it once was.

Please, think again. Don't be carried away by media noise, or the absence thereof.

Coins make noise. Notes do not.
