WHEN TOMORROW COMES........... another day in April 2020 with corona
When tomorrow comes , and spring didn't know what happened... yet !
WHEN SPRING DIDN'T KNOW….
It is only early 2020 and for me after a great New Year’s Eve with friends and family, the year started of with a great skiing holiday and love from family. We had a long dark winter, February had been a very restless month with lots of storms and lots of rain here in Holland. We even had some minor damage after a big storm 5 weeks ago. But knowing now, what we didn't knew than in comparison with all thats happening now.... I would love to turn back the clock.

Nature was restless, as if she wanted to tell people something, as if she wanted to warn people about something ...
It now is March 2020 ... The streets are empty, most of the shops are already closed, or have to close this week. And most of the cars were on the side of the road, people almost never left and that all over the world, countries are in lock down. People can’t believe this is happening, it was so surreal, and some are not even taking it serious! People wake up ! This isn’t a joke.
This week Spring came, the flowers started to bloom, and some days the sun is shining. The first beautiful spring day Was here and i sat in the sun, outside on a bench on my own, scared and worried about the future and my elderly parents. I saw the swallows came back, would have been a nice #featheredfriday blog, hadden’ the it be that i was so pre occupied i forgot to take a picture. I did make this picture.
And the sky turned pink and blue, at night and again i was sitting outside while the dogs were running, losing energy after to much time inside. It got dark later and early in the morning the light came through the windows, again and the virus spread even more than yesterday. In Italy where my parents live in the summer, there are friends having an even more difficult time, and sending sad images from the hospitals. My best friend and my brother in law can’t from their last flight on an empty plane, nobody was allowed onboard anymore because of possible infected crew.
It is ( i wanted to say was , but its is still is ) March 2020 ...
The youngsters studied online from home as you can see in my #coronahomeschooldiary #coronadiary every day and that works. Well not really great and its still a challenge to get all done but i am a mum in the night, teacher in the morning until 12 , a working bee until 17.00 and than i am the household chef. Inevitably, other children played mainly at home too, so they are allowed to play while i work, yes even onlin, yes for more than 60 minutes behind a screen.
Adolescents are bored, parents did not know what to do with that free time and making stupid remarks on social media, and intranet. For some reason working from your home bound office make people do and write stupid notes all day, intranet is shut of. People only came outside for shopping or to walk the dog. Almost everything is closed… Even the offices, hotels, restaurants and bars. The army began to guard exits and borders more strict than the last 15 years. Schiphol is empty. People who can had to work from home, are home and a lot of new office places are found in the weirdest places of their homes. I even heard a father locking himself in the bathroom, to work. ( nice one for me today for the tag #toiletthursday. But also a lot of Entrepreneurs ran into problems, no customers no income, that is so sad. What will the future bring and have in stall for us? Most children whom parents work in CARE ( hospitals, police or fire department ) are being cared for in schools so that their parents can work in the so vital parts of our society.

The hardest thing is the situation in our great care system. Suddenly there was not enough room for everyone in hospitals, operations and investigations were postponed ... Everyone knows someone that is in need of care or is in the group with the high risks. I saw the ICU footage on the news and it made me scared and very sad.
But spring did not know and was here like nothing was wrong. The new season just is here, trying to relieve us from black thoughts, but is that even possible ? She just is completing what she does every year, her normal annual program, virus or no virus! She gave us her most beautiful knobs and flowers and her most wonderful scents. Stop and smell!
Everyone i know is quarantined at home for health or preventive reasons, thats not a joke, its hard , its tough and boring but i want to live. Some people no longer are allowed to go to work, others had to stop travelling! So what! To hug, kiss or shake hands was suddenly a threat, it sure hell is ! Stay of me, i like you the same from 1,50 meters away. Everyone had to keep a good distance from each other, that is horrible BUT NESSECCARY ! NO NEED TO HAMSTER FOOD, all shelves were empty in the supermarket. WTF ! All sorts of fun things were canceled, well BoooHoo there will be another Eurovision Song Contest or concert or even that football league and Grand Prix.
All over the world, many people are sick and this virus is highly contagious, isolation is needed, illness and panic ... the fear is real !! And the days all look the same. And the weeks suddenly last much longer. I hope the pleasure of cooking and eating together is rediscovered. Everyone is giving each other tips on fun things to do with your children. There is Moore time to blog and read again, people let their imaginations run wild and boredom turns into creativity. So thats a great thing coming from this horendes virus. Everyone had much more family time overnight, we have more fun, cause the boys give hubby a nice story about their new but to strickt teacher mum Britt. I saw some initiatives offer to run errands or cook for vulnerable and elderly people. Everyone suddenly knew what a 'vital profession' is, these people became heroes, they were valued more than ever. I hope all care personell and teachers will be more appreciated after this lock down. Others started making or singing music with each other to be together in this way On line and in talkshows, and my TIKTOK world is filled with great and funny videos.
Last news is that The government wants to help companies and the self-employed so that they would not go bankrupt or fire people. Retired healthcare personnel volunteered to assist in Healthcare Units that are understaffed. That so great, i applaud these people.
volunteers came from all over, everyone wanted to do something. Yesterday At 8:00 PM people from all over the country started clapping for all the doctors, nurses and care staff who worked hard to keep everything going in healthcare, and that are working so much overtime.
I hope people recognise the importance of health and connection, of togetherness, of social contacts and perhaps Even forget who is the enemy, this is something about collective consciousness, this did something with people, with me. I did not sleepy that great these last few days. I hope the world will reinvent itself, and will heal. Just like all of us. The news here is 76 deaths and 409 people in urgent care. And not everybody is tested. We got 2 kids in school and there are two small kids that have te virus, so yes `I RANT, IAM SCARED, but i also have hope. Hope for the future, and the faith that we will survive and overcome this drama. It is a year with the though that the world would stop, the year we would get into the history books forever. The spring that changed my life, and the lives of all of us wherever.

Spring will never feel the same.
This is the empty airport from where my friend came from thank god, with no symptoms, the vitamin C 1000 mg for us all, the lovely wish candles, the new born sheep in the fields, the high steem-price, the home work to write like us old people do, watching much ER re-runs, the wonderful hospital staff in Erasmus MC in Rotterdam and offcourse discord. That are all things that made me smile and have faith.
I want to say about 7 million people watched TV and the prime minister when he told us and the world the fight is on and we might want to be in for a treatment to get affected and to get imune in a few months time, but that is scary too. We have to wait and see.
Despite everything that we already suffered all around the world, Despite the virus, Despite the fear, Despite al those deaths. We will survive!! Because everyone learned the power of life ... while Spring didn’t know ........

All we have is hope for the future, we can't turn back the clock but we can hope! This is my personal line : HOPES Bigger than fear!
We'll get through this, we are all in this together.
With us the street are not empty and children still play outside plus dogs get their walk and people keep buying.
The only thing you might not notice is if people are working at home plus the doctor sent a letter patients are no longer welcome. They only answer the phone.
Enjoy Spring, Eastern is on it's way and this is not the first flu we have or will have.
Three years we had one too, the hospitals were full and there was no room for a friend. The doctor refused to visit him and in hospitals you are not welcome unless the doctor allows it. As he finally was allowed he was diagnosed as not ill enough, sent home with an infusion and catheter because people with the flu were much sicker as he was... they said. He had cancer and lost over 20 programmes in 3 weeks time... He was seriously ill but it wasn't noticed. I wonder how come suddenly people forgot that flu?
In a country where each year hospitals close and the new remedy is to stay at home and contact your doctor by computer you should not count on a bed in case of need.

From out of the ashes springs hope eternal. In order to survive this pandemic, one must try to stay as healthy as possible. There is currently no solution for the entire world. We must all come together to find one. We have to adjust our social behaviors in a way that's not been seen or dealt with for years. Change is good if it teaches us a lesson. Yes, Spring and Easter is coming. No matter what happens, time moves forward with or without us being in it's presence.
