Another Reason Why McMansion Prices Are Going To Zero

KunstlerQuote.jpg

I talk a lot about demographic collapse and VAXXX deaths making empty houses so abundant, that suburban house prices drop to zero. However, there is an even bigger reason no one will want suburban houses in the future. They suck.

The literally suck the life out of people.
The yard is to small to sustain the people inside, the house is too big when the kids have left, and too small when the kids are there

The houses are too far apart to actually be a community, without some kind of added meeting place like a church which a good portion of the surrounding community attends.

So, the houses are too big, too small, too close together and not far enough apart.

In other words, or in the words of Kunstler, "the national automobile slum" sucks. It is bad for people.

The suburban sprawl

We have made huge box stores with huge parking lots, that are so far apart, walking between them is a pain (while they are right next to each other). And there is often no path to walk in between them.

America has been designed to be driven. The problem is, it started with small cities, and the planning was just to sprawl outwards. The planning was to sorta give people privacy, but only enough was given to make sure you rarely saw/interacted with your neighbor. But, you could look into anyone's bedroom window easily, you could hear every argument or stereo turned up above really low.

What we got was the worst of all worlds. But we didn't know any better. We were born into this kind of environment.

We rarely see a family house. Not here in America, but in many of the old countries, the entire family, multiple generations live in the same home. Basically a small mansion. And each generation helping out how they can.

In America, we not only divided neighbors, we divided up the families.

As soon as people cotton on to a better way of living together, they are all going to be moving in that direction. Meaning, all of this suburban sprawl is worthless real estate.

Things that are better

Small cities where you can walk everywhere are felt to be a much nicer place to live.
Usually this is areas where you have stores beneath and apartments above. With streets that are meant for walking, not for cars. You meet a good deal of your fellow city-people while going about your day.

Some developers are renovating American downtown areas to match this. Greatly increasing the desirability of people to live there.

Communes where they build all the buildings close together and any cars are parked on the outside seem to work well for everyone to know everyone, and so that part works, but most of these have failed because they attract many lay-abouts and do not have nearby industry for employment.

Small farming towns often do well for the people, as in, the town is the hub where everyone comes and goes. Although everything is designed for driving, it has to be because huge farms are very far apart. So, you have to drive. Many people need a truck just to visit parts of their property.

What is essential is the meeting of most of your neighbors at walking speed. Seeing your neighbor in the car, two lanes over does not help to build community. So, a good community needs a place where people often come, where you can meet most everyone. Church, union hall, pub, feed store, they have all worked well. And America has really gotten rid of all of them.

The suburban way of life relies on a bunch of things:

  • A growing population
  • Growing industry
  • Cars and gasoline
  • Has to continue to grow
  • Outpacing the rot of infrastructure
  • Huge factory farms
  • Robust distribution network
  • Everyone doing well, so that crime is not rampant
  • People willing to work in cubicles
  • Millions of gallons of water piped in.
  • Land fills to remove garbage to.

These are a lot of requirements. And America's cities are failing to maintain them.
The easiest failing that we can see is all the homeless encampments. And all the rampant crime. So much crime that cities are just saying, we aren't bothering to arrest petty criminals.

The infrastructure is failing.
The industries are shutting down.

Basically, it is just a matter of time before the only people that live there are those who cannot afford to leave. These cities won't even be considered slums. Slums are a growth off of prosperous area that can keep enough money flowing in the area. These won't even be slums.

And the mother WEFers seem to want things this way. These city govern-cements are doing the exact opposite of what they need to do to avoid complete destruction of their cities.
