Things Are Breaking Down, But This Will Allow Real Solutions To Our Power Problems!
While we are reacting to horrifying adverts about who to vote for, for president, and the break down of social order between Repulsivekins and Dumbocraps, technologies that we thought of as only science fiction will be coming out.
While parts of the world comes to a halt when delivery of oil is constricted, there will be inventors bring our new ways to create electricity.
While most PhD scientists are discredited, and ivory towers are bulldozed, there will be Aether Physicists making breakthroughs by ignoring the last 100 years of science, and going back further and bringing that knowledge forward and turning it into application.
And no one is going to actually make a Tesla Tower. It is no longer necessary.
The "Power" structures crumble
The power companies are in power. It is almost illegal to compete with them.
The only way solar electricity is allowed to be tied to the grid is because they need more power and they do not want to put all the investment into building a new powerplant and new rail-tracks to deliver coal and new coal mining operation. Further, they are relying on the intermittent nature of solar power. So, most people will still have to rely on the grid. Few can get out from under their thumb, and if they do, they can crush them with their "power" (yes, they can just turn off YOUR solar system OR!! charge you for the energy that you are not using.)
Fortunately, while the banks are collapsing. While there is disruption in govern-cement control. And while the grid is being unstable, people will be building their own power sources.
Decentralized energy is the future
An all connected electric grid seems like a great idea. Multiple paths and multiple sources of electricity can handle all kinds of problems… right?
What actually happens is that the connections are tenuous, and are not sized for anything other than minor failures.
Again, the power companies are trying to avoid paying for what is really needed in their system. If there are two paths to bring power to a place, then each path should be running under 50%, so that if one fails, the other doesn't go over 100% capacity. But, really most paths are running near 70%. And any failure, shunts more power then the alternative path can handle. In the above example, one path fails, and now the second runs at 140% capacity, which burns it out too.
Further, this grid, and multiple paths only apply to heavily populated areas. Rural areas still have only one wire feeding them. So, when the country goes down because someone ran into a phone pole, or the electric company turned off the feed because of "high winds", then everyone loses power.
The grid is not even close to its advertising brochure.
Fortunately, a better way is coming. Small community sized power generating devices will become the normal. So, if your power goes out, you can go visit your friends in the next community over while the machinery is fixed. This handles large and small disasters so much better than the grid. It is a simple and elegant solution.
Free energy has to be free
One thing i always here when talking about how to build electric generation devices is that "if you build a free energy device, you will be rich". Thinking that you could patent it and then everyone would have to pay you. Unfortunately, our current world doesn't work that way.
First, you cannot patent a free-energy device any more. The patent office has decreed it so.
Second, the patent doesn't protect you, it just allows you to sue anyone who breaks your patent. And, in so doing, you enter a long and expensive battle, in which you have to prove that you actually own the patent, and that you were given the patent properly. Yes, you have to prove that there was no previous designs for your patented idea. All your stealing opponents have to do is come up with any previous art work, or just run you out of money to continue the law suit. Either way you fail and lose your patent.
Third, the power players are not used to doing things nicely. They will first offer to buy your patent. And YOU WILL sell it to them. Or your estate will sell it to them. Or everything about it will be buried. They are not above threatening you, your family, your friends…
But, mostly, this is a universe thing. Free energy has to be free. You cannot have free energy and then restrict it.
So, if you are working on free-energy device, or even an over-unity device, i suggest you go further than open source. Share freely all the plans, all your ideas, and your tests and outcomes. At every stage. Leave nothing out.
The upside of this is that universe reward those who solve problems. If you give it all away, you will find more coming back to you than you ever could have expected.
New power sources are coming.
And the old "power" companies are going to fall over and turn to dust.
They are going to try to clench their hands tighter, to not allow anybody to escape their death grip, but the sand will slip through their fingers. They will end up with nothing.
As they play with turning off power to certain areas, things break, and more people go fully off-grid. And this gets more people working in areas of small community power generation. They try to increase their power by showing people who is in power, and doing so causes them to lose power.
Before we have true free-energy, we will have many continuous, non-polluting, energy sources explored. Such as:
- Real Solar - not PV panels, but heat collecting turned to electricity.
- Geothermal - there is lots of heat below our feat. We just have to break free of the ivory tower guardsman and work out all the engineering problems.
- Magnet motors - magnets exert a constant force. A magnet stuck to your fridge is actually, constantly doing work. It is just a matter of time before we work out torque issues with these things and start creating continuous electricity.
- Biomass - even you have plant and animal life around you, and you should if you have a homestead, then putting that shit in a vessel and create methane and/or heat and use it to power your homestead.
- Ocean wave - All we need is a large paddle wheel, about the size of a Ferris Wheel, put into the ocean near the coast. The waves continuously beat against the coast, and that is a power source that isn't allowed to be tapped because it will make our coastline look ugly. But isn't all the pollution uglier?
Every one of these has rules and regulations against them. Created by those power companies to keep people from having their own power. So, while that all collapses, look for, and help those who are making the new, decentralized power.
