Federal employees threaten strike over income arrears

The workers, below the umbrella of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), have threatened that unless the federal government can pay advertising arrears, brilliant salaries, and different allowances, on or before September 18, 2017, they might close down government.
“In view of the foregoing, ASCSN has given the federal authorities a seven-day ultimatum, with effect from September 18, 2017, inside which to settle money owed owed federal employees failing which a 3-day warning strike will begin in federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs for the duration of the u . S . A .,” the union stated.
ASCSN Secretary General, Alade Lawal, lamented that for greater than two years, authorities have been promising to pay people outstanding entitlements without doing so.
“It is alternatively unfortunate that the same federal government that has given state governments bailouts, up to 3 instances, to settle the entitlements owed their workers, takes delight in punishing its very own employees by using denying them their valid benefits,” he stated.
