The principles of Permaculture
1- Observe and Interact
Watch the site and its forces such as climate, topography, water and wildlife!
2-Catch and Store energy
Don´t look at energy as just electricity, stored water as the power for irrigating plants and crops, a forest and its biomass is rich in building materials, minerals and fuel.
3- Obtain a Yield
Reap a harvest of your system, trees, and crops, always choose fruit trees over ornamental trees.
4- Apply Self-Regulation and Accept Feedback
Limit our consumption and care for earth and people, and accept feedback in a learning process
5- Use and Value Renewable Resources
Resources that will replenish like sustainable forestry or hunting, use nutrients and take advantage of resources like wind or the sun.
6- Produce No Waste
Use compost, repair tools and everything you can.
7- Design from patterns to details
After getting a big picture of your biome use the knowledge to plan in detail ways to better reap profit from it
8- Integrate rather than segregate
Work with other people and build a community so your relations can be stronger!
9- Use small and slow solutions
Plant trees that will reap fruits in the long run, plant mushrooms below the trees to create more yields!
10- Use and value diversity
why so many monocultures? rotational grazing of animals works wonderful, use your garden for have many plants and abundance! The more diverse you are the more resilience your system is.
11- Use edges and value the marginal
Add things to the edges and create more lawyers of productivity
12- Creatively use and respond to change
If you have a garden and in winter you think nothing will grow, look for winter vegetables on the shop or the internet, or plant winter flowers!
